England may be cack, but Rooney hardly looked like a diamond in the rough, he was as cack as the rest of them, worse than most actually.
Rooney is NOT World Class. Don't be a fool. World Class is thrown about so much now it loses all meaning.
Mario supplies the goods when it's needed. For me, way better than Rooney. Also take into consideration Balotelli plays in a foreign country and is still only 21.
Rooney in Serie A would struggle.

Rooney is a class player but he looks as though he's had all the fun coached out of him. Ballotelli has the youthful X-Factor that Rooney used to have. Such a shame but as long as Rooney still does it for United on a week in-week out basis, i'm happy with that.

City......2004 he was brilliant but since then he's not lived up to it, but to be fair in 06 he shouldn't have gone. No way he could play and perform with 2 broken bones in his foot! For me south africacwad the most frustrating as he played so well as the lone stricker then asked to play deeper and it just went belly up! But time is on his side and it was the same for Ruud, Gomez, van persie etc.any cracking players haven't really done it for their country and Rooney is one of them, but that numpty bumble actually thinks he's awful......err he's not!
Rooney is past it, we should be looking for the English Balotelli rather than labouring on with Shrek.
