Not the first, but he knows as they all do, what the penalty could be. So why do it? And chance not only his team being beaten with ten men, but even if they aren't, he would miss the final. Managers should fine their players for such thoughtless, stupid behaviour.

He's probably the first to do it in the first half.

He really shouldn't be taking his kit off, we may have another bib incident on our hands

Dead right, SalfordRed.

No he shouldn't do it, but it is a heat of the moment jobby. After all he is a footballer, none are the brightest of breeds.
You have to say he has a great physique, I wouldn't ever like Rooney to do that.

As a neutral, Balotelli is a class above Rooney. Balotelli proves he can do it on the biggest stage.

rooney's won a champions league and scored in another final. balotelli never even get off the bench for inter in 09-10.

rooney's won a champions league

Betrand and Torres of Chelsea both won a CL medal this year showing that right time, right place is all it takes to win medals. \You don`t have to be that good.

Rooney has been absoluely pants on the itnernational stage for years now. Surely you don`t need me to tell yo that. You have eyes of your own.

"Wayne Rooney is a very good player, but not the best in Manchester." - Mario Balotelli

nobody is denying rooney has been rubbish for england.

but honestly, what could he have done in this euro tournament?
it was literally hoof ball for 75 minutes. and when you're not 100% fit its pretty hard to chase a ball in hot weather

Cechs helmet....no he's not, that accolade goes to scholes! Best player ever to play in Manchester since best!

In what way was he not fit? He missed the first 2 games through stupidity (Mario hasn't got a monopoly on that) not injury, indeed he played in Uniteds last 10 or so games so he couldnt have been that unfit.

Inky....he's 25 with a decent scoring record,

He's 27 in 3 months time and his scoring touch for England has vanished unless he's stood unmarked on the line and someone plants it on his head.

I suppose 3 years is neither here nor there when you're talking about young players.

he hadnt played a match in 40 odd days, he looked a little chubby to me

Rooney was fit he just didn't play well and that's it, no excuses but some idiots on here actually think international football is better than top club football.....is isn't so this topic if he's good enough is just plain daft considering what rooney has done in the champions league which is the highest level. Your not playing against championship/ second rate leagues players and players from the MLS when it comes to the nut and crannies of the competition each year!

Good point Lee, the media were going on as if he had been recovering from Malaria rather than being absent because he was needlessly banned.

How many of the Spanish, German or Italian squads play in the MLS?

Inky, he's a forward that's his job.....linkear did that for years but no one cared as he was there to score! Ffs he's 26 hardly old you blithering idiot! Why on earth or you think he should play like pele on speed when he's a good player and a fooking centre forward.....Rooney is the bloke that the midfielders have to supply so he can knock it in the net......which he fookin did!!! When it comes to goals scored he's up there with the best plain and simple but for some stupid reason you think he should be like messi.....well he's not and has he ever said so????? No, so ffs change the fookin tune will ya

Jesus wet inky, talking about city's forward who played against might of Irelands defense! But in general the standard in international level is pants!

posted on 28/6/12

A forwards job is to score, what's his strike rate for England been over the last 3 years?

posted on 28/6/12

is balotelli flavor of the month amongst city fans again then? i remember when they wanted to birch him.
