1 match ban enabled.
It's easy to get blasé about referred record over the years as to how deep in slams he consistently gets.
Tonight's result from Rosol helps put that in perspective.
Will be very interesting to hear nadals press conference.
What a super day of tennis, roll on day 5!
Referred record = federers record!
It seems tenez has gone back to v2 as he has been awol here all day.
--------------------------------
I'll never go back to V2. I post on another new forum but this one is my main one. As I said I was just playing tennis tonight.....not very far from CC actually.
"You play against an inspired opponent and I am out. That's all. It’s not a tragedy. It’s only a tennis match. At the end, that's life. There are much more important things. Sure, I wanted to win, but I lost. That's it”.
“That's sport. You win, you lose. The last four months were great for me. It was probably one of the best four months of my career, playing unbelievable in the clay-court season."
2012 will prove that Nadull is now a force only on clay but for how long? Surely this match is a turning point. Bit faster conditions and rafa was a sitting duck. Imagine had the conditions stayed like pre2002 rafa wouldn't have won a single Wimby.
There's a number of factors here, not least that Nadal didn't know Rosol's game, so was hard to come up with a game plan.
But ultimately the better player won on the night, Rosol must take HUGE credit for going for winners from start to finish.
I was gobsmacked by his lack of nerves in that final set.
I hope that at some point Nadal finds the grace to properly congratulate Rosol.
I also hope that they meet again, and that Rosol does it again!
Imagine had the conditions stayed like pre2002 rafa wouldn't have won a single Wimby.
------------------------------------
Under those conds Karlo, Isner and Raonic would simply be unstoppable.
The only player who has proven to be able to handle the big servers on fast conds (grass and carpet) is Federer.
What?? The match barely started and we have rain..
I saw the link about Nadal complaining about Rosol moving on the return of serve. Pathetic. What is even more pathetic is that the referee has a word with Rosol about it even though nor referee and th ecommentator noticed anything wrong about it.
How can we allow a player to pressurise a referee once again is making the referee say something he woudl not have done otherwise.
Terrible again and just shows how useless those referees are...or more like how the ATP/ITF has castratated them in favour of Nadal. I don;t think other players would get as much leeway.
GP "That bumping thing at the end of the clip is very rude. You can tell Rafa was looking for a bump. At club level something like that easily could have gotten out of hand. You just don't touch your opponent."
---------------------------------------------------------------
I had not seen that. That's absolutely crass. And it confirms again everything we believe when it comes to Nadal. It's winning at all costs. No reason to think that nothing is left to chance including using what's available today to get such fitness!!!!
The worse player in tennis history. He beats Connors and Becker easily in that department.
The worse player in tennis history.
---------------------------------------------------
I second that though not sure about Becker. At least his tennis was enthralling.
T, today we have a remedy: check the return at 7:45 in this clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hopNt3qDhA8&feature=related
I can't stop watching that one
Check the clip from 6:50 anyway
Excellent!!!! I really fancy watching this match this weekend.
I cannot believe some are still fan of such a crass player. A bad loser with an ugly game...and worse pretending to be humble and nice. We did not have to scatch deep to see his true colours.
Can someone tell A. Castle he looks rose than ridiculous with that tutffed up , heavily gelled hair
Djokovic will win this in four.
Djokovic shoudl win in 3.....but again a 33 yo holding his own against peak Djokovic despite dead slow conditions.
To me it shows how different the ranking would be had they kept faster pace all year round.
Three set points for Stepanek. He's done it. What did I tell you?
This SP summarised the difference in volley skills between the new and old generation.
I was going to say that Stepanek is a real talent and had he got Djoko's footwork and stamina...he woudl really be in with a chance today.
So disappointing from Raonic. It was very windy and that completely through him off. Querrey was defending an dkeeping the ball in court! Against Murray, he will have no chance.
Very good news for Murray.

Just read about that. I am not surprised they helped Andy threre.
The tennis circus show is at it once again. That really infuriates me.
I am still here and Rosol showed quality against Nadal and its not shameful for Nadal to lose to Rosol who was playing so good that had he played Djokovic or Federer he would have beaten them though Rafa played not as good as he can play for sure.
I felt really bad to see Nadal lose but now I want Murray to win Wimbledon and I don't want Djokovic to win and I would even love to see Rosol win Wimbledon this year.

----------------------
I am afraid that's wrong. You cannot draw a conclusion like that based on one match, especially against Nadal.
Djoko and Federer woudl have probably rushed Rosol into more UEs. Nadal's stands way too far back and that is what cost him.
Kholi might handle Rosol better than Nadal himself.
