Hate to be so straight with you, but shirt numbers are a total irrelevance.
Really glad to see some positive feedback from the Chelsea fans. Thanks guys!
Could turn out to be a great bargain
Really good signing for you guys (unfortunately )

He's the stereotypical poacher. Could be your Hernandez.
Let's be honest, Darren Bent would score 20+ a season at Liverpool with the chances we make.
Borini will score plenty if the likes of Suarez and Gerrard are playing.
Saw him play in the Championship...good player.
His positioning is good, he's fast, and he's a great finisher. He's not the most physical player though, and he's not the best at holding up the ball. I've not seen a huge amount from him, but he reminded me a little of Milan Baros (who I think was under-rated at Liverpool). He'll provide something different, and I have high hopes for him if and when he signs.
Quality player with fantastic attitude and he is a player in Flippo Inzaghi mould and even though it would hurt to see him playing well for Liverpool I want him to be a big success as I was a big fan of his!

"& he's HG"
Really?
If so....... Rodgers you beaut
Good player but can't help but feel like we're over paying. The £12 million I heard about seems steep to me for the little experience he's had. With a limited budget and plenty of gaps we need to plug, I think we should've been better negotiating or looked at more established targets. I will back him though and I have faith that Rodgers knows what he's doing.
Mr Anfield
Sums it up. That comparison was what i was thinking of. Very silky, though he was behind Di Santos in our pecking other at that time. CA didn't trust him enough, we would have save £11m on Lukaku

Really, we paid £35m for Carroll, this seems more sensible to me.
That really is a stupid rule, how can one be home grown if they play for Italy or any other country, regardless of how many years spent in a different country to there birth.
As far as i'm concerned if your born in Brazil your Brazilian, if your born in Russia your russian and so on, simple as that.

£11m for a 21 year old already on the fringes of the Italian national team seems like a good deal to me.

HG means playing for the club 3years prior to your 18th or 21st birthday....cant remember now
Not nationality

We all know that was a mistake but the fact he was English and there was limited time left to sign a striker so we went for a panic buy, that is where the inflation comes about. However here we have plenty of time to seek out other targets if Roma refuse to lower their valuation.
Well we wouldn't have bought Lukaku if he stayed with us. To be fair if we'd sold him for £11M then I don't think many on here would have complained but he now looks like a very good prospect and someone we should have dealt with better
Funnily enough I only saw him play on a few occasions, and only at a match I went to once
He came on as a sub and did nothing but miss an open goal in injury time with the score 2-1 to us
