AVB

There's nothing wrong with that, that cracked me up

If he gets charged I'm hoping he's ready to be named and shamed by the country's press

He's just enjoying his 15 mins of fame - wont feel good about it at a later date

As for Zoe smith... she can bench 18stone... im 12stone, no thanks

Yeah, I can see how that would be a problem. She's fit as though, and her bum is delicious.

The symbol for the Olympics games in England looks like Lisa Simpson is giving Bart Simpson a head. Just saying

Why do so many people dislike Daley, out of interest? He seems like a nice kid, and such a talent for GB's future.

I thought all the female weightlifters looked like blokes until I saw our very own Zoe Smith. We might not have the best weightlifter but we have the fittest, so we win by default.

yeah, zoe smith is lovely. Hard to believe she's only 18

To put it mildly I quite ignorantly didn't have much time for him during Beijing. In part due to the media documenting his fallout with his diving partner and with me knowing so little about diving I couldn't really connect with that sport or competitors.

Only over the last year or so where the interviews have been more measured and personal do you really start to appreciate what these guys sacrifice and the fairly unglamorous life they lead. The Trolls on Twitter abusing him aren't much of a surprise though. Take a big enough sample of people and you will get a few morons. I think that Pandora's box is well and truly opened.

gb volleyball team doing alright. Looks like they'll go to 5 sets against Algeria bar a massive collapse.
Doesn't sound much but they'd never won an olympic set before this game.

Thanks for the input on zoe smith, fit looking lass.
As for daley, why the hatred?he does his best and is still young.
I hope he goes on to win a medal and shut some folk up.

I'm not really a Daley fan if i'm honest. He has been through alot and I feel for him in that respect but something just doesn't really sit right with me. I mean him getting bullied at school strikes to me as him having abit of a big time charlie attitude. Like surely you would want to be really matey with a guy who goes to the Olympics etc, rather than bully him. There probably was a reason for it. Thing is noone is really going to hear another side to the story really but something doesn't sit right with me.

blueboy

This is their (volleyball) Olympic debut, isn't it? So they wouldn't have won a set before this They must not have qualified before these games, I suppose.

As for Daley being bullied - could be jealousy, pure and simple. Perhaps he snubbed those wanting to be his friends as they only tried after he became famous. Who knows? I just think it's great that kids so young (especially those who are 14, 15 etc) can do so well on such a big stage. Hopefully Tom can win an individual medal. Those abusing the athletes behind their keyboards ought to be ashamed of themselves. Like they'd have the balls to do it to their faces.

5th set in the volleyball. Going to be a late one.

And AVB, isn't it possible he was bullied out of jealousy? I mean he was 14, in the Olympics and his face was everywhere. It seems reasonable to me to think that might create some resentment.
I don't know, I don't really like to judge people I don't know.
From what I've seen of him in interviews etc, he seems nice enough kid. And after seeing documentary about his dad, I really did want to see him do well today.
