The president called me yesterday
the swimming team is by far the best presentation team on the beeb's coverage imo, and that's even including clare balding.
whats wrong with chris boardman? 1992 olympic champion and three time world champion, the hour record, winning the prologue of the 1994 Tour de France with the fastest time ever recorded not bad
i bet he quite enjoyed being put on hold for a change. probably doesnt happen very often.
i knew i had to be asking for trouble with my chris boardman post
i'll have a go at my list in a minute
Was Jonathan Edwards on the list?
Boardman's also played a role in developing some on the other cyclists. Helps Wiggins a fair bit apparently.
johnathan edwards does he still hold the world record for the 3 jump
Don't forget Peter Elliott too
forgive my ignorance who's peter elliot?
The President was NOT put on hold. It's been the same for years - his secretary makes the call to confirm the recipient and then says 'please hold for the President of the United States' - (s)he then rings through to the President (who obviously is ready) and connects the call.
My GP does the same. It saves both the President (and my GP) making all the calls themselves, getting wrong numbers and whatnot.
He was the ginger one, ran 800m and 1500m
peter elliot
ive got cram and coe in my draft list...
I've never understood the triple jump, i.e. how did it ever come about?
Long jump, high jump, fair enough. But why would anyone ever come up of an idea for a jump that involves two little mini-jumps first?
youre going to draft an entire list of sporting greats are you JPB youll be there for hours
Does Allan Wells make the list?
