Herman is a damp squib.

You can feel the jealousy pouring out of him every time he commentates on Murray, always has a snidy remark, or never says anything encouraging about him

shiiit i forgot christie. i would have put him in ntotwithstanding the drugs allegations. maybe about nr 11 i reckon

so anyway, i reckon there's probably a dozen or so all time sporting british greats during the last 30 years.

should ennis be on that list ?

He may have provided great entertainment etc but we don't we judge sport by actually winning stuff. I mean you can make a claim that Murray has gone past his achievements already.

much as i hate to have him on the list, gerrard won a european cup on his own tbf.

you could do definitely, and im sure you'd be right, but would he have done it if it wasnt for henman ? i doubt it personally. henman paved the way.

thats your opinion though JPB ive got a different opinion like i said earlier there are different levels of sporting greats, she wouldnt be up with daley thompson, wiggins, hoy et al but winning the olympic heptathlon title would put her up with the likes of christie, gunnell, edwards etc

Sally Gunnell > Jessica Ennis

Surely though you would then have to place Boardman high on the list then. Without his success would the likes of Hoy and Wiggins be as successful?

Henman paved the path the mediocrity

Murray would be where he's at regardless of henman.

His mother encouraged him to go to Barcelona at an early age to improve with some of the best coaches in the world. Had nothing to do with henman success, or lack there of

Henman, a career picking up knickers instead of trophies.....

Cos JPB put him in his top 10 greatest British athletes since 1980

If you are moving it beyond Olympics Radcliffe took 3mins off the women's Marathon Record which i would argue done much more than Henman did for tennis.

to be fair to henman he was a great tennis player to be a top 5 player for pretty much a decade in any sport is pretty special
