If you're talking about great British Olympians, graham obree has to be in there.

Builds his own bike and wins gold with it. This was when British cycling was crap, no where near where it is today.

I've never understood the triple jump, i.e. how did it ever come about?
Long jump, high jump, fair enough. But why would anyone ever come up of an idea for a jump that involves two little mini-jumps first?

I've always wondered that too. I think maybe a hop, step and jump are the only three ways you can possibly move forward using only your legs. So it incorporates all of those.

the thing with me for henman is that he almost singlehandedly revived britsh tennis, a major world sport which britain used to be great at. he reminded us we could reach the top and was miles ahead of his peers. he provided massive entertainment in some amazing matches and was a sporting icon.
