A dump that has postcode that pays one of the highest amount of rates in the country, due to its higher living standard. With quick access to airports, motorways, train services, port area as well as the titanic quarter which houses multi national banking corporations. The only thing strabane offers is the road out of it.....

Its obvious you have never been to Strabane, as it has most of those things apart from the impossible such as a titanic quarter and a port. Does that mean that every place in NI is a dump because it doesnt have a port and the titanic quarter?

Strabane has an airport, a central used train station,main motorways? The titanic quarter bring multiple business and tourism to belfast as well as movie production, concerts generating millions per year. Other areas and towns offer great things such as the north coast or the mourne area. Im afraid strabane doesnt offer much at all - the reason many people havent been to strabane is because there is nothing to offer.

You said castlereagh had, and I quote 'easy access' to those things. Strabane is fifteen minutes away from Derry airport and train station, and a motorway 15 minutes away outside omagh, is that not easy access? Strabane isn't great, but don't make it out to be like some 3rd world country, and don't try and make castlereagh out to be like some sort of Beverly hills type place. Anyway, isn't castlereagh not even recognised as a town? Apparently it's a borough

Apparently? did you have to google that? yes castlereagh is a borough of Belfast - i never said it was a town im from Belfast but was narrowing down whereabouts in Belfast to help you out

its not really easy access when you have to drive to another town then drive some more to get to a motorway. i can be on the M1,M2,M3 in 10 mins. Same with getting to Central station for trains to go anywhere in the country.

An airport which has less than 10 destinations is nothing more than a seasonal or regional airport. I can get to the city airport in less than 10 mins or the international in 25 if im heading further a field.

Anyways im bored with this now its really a pointless argument - maybe you can recommend things for me to do next time im up in strabane? But one last thing, next time you try to 'quote' someone, make sure the 'quote' is correct

I would say I could get to Derry airport quicker than you could get to Airports and motorways etc with all that traffic in Belfast. Anyway, Strabane is a town, so its isn't going to have airports etc are you saying every town in NI is a dump because it doesn't have these things?

Just had a wee look at starbanes wikipedia page there out of interest. I was only pulling you leg about the place - but it was actually voted the 8th worst place to live in the UK at one point and there was a mass celebration when it made it out of the top 20 according to the Telegraph page?

Still, for a town in the north west, it still has alot of quick access to those things you mentioned.

Yeah it was voted that in 2005 but it has come along way since then. Its changed so much. And I cant remember any celebration when it made it out of the top 20 tbh.

Sorry to interrupt your ongoing "NI Town of the Year" debate with the fellas. I fully appreciate this is a subject very dear to your heart! Anyway, you will be pleased to know that I expect the All Ireland boxing team to do quite well. For once they seem to have sorted out the judging which has been so lamentable in recent years. No more points for shoulder slaps! Have to say, I have agreed with all the judging Ive seen so far. Given this fair judging I feel there could be a few medals on the way for the All Ireland Boxing team!
