Silvestre....

I would lose all faith in wenger if rvp went to united. They give us deadwood sylvest and then we give then our best player!

I can't see it happening but if it does then we will be the laughing stock of the league behind spurs

He shouldn,t be sold to either manc teams, if he wont move to Juve or another foreign team let him run contract down. Once his contract runs out we have no say where he goes but under no circumstances should we allow RVP to be sold to a domestic rival.

Pretty sure the 70m package Juventus have put together will be the one that happens. RVP (I think) Wants to go abroad because although he is a he is a clever who knows if he stays in England he's going to get a very tough time from us and owes it to us not to go to a rival.

Surely winning the league with either manc team would not be that satisfying as according to RVP his a fan of Arsenal. I think if he wants to win the EPL he should concentrate on doing that with Arsenal not looking to move the first time he gives us a proper full season.

"Pretty sure the 70m package Juventus "

To be honest. I don't believe this!

Why does he owe you anything? He's your captain and still part of your team yet you've turned on him en masse

What planet are you on sun-shine? Where Art Thou?

He turned on us, we loved him dearly.

I shall now quote the Lion King (Assuming Robin is the World - as he was to all of us last season)

"When the world turns its back on you, you turn your back on the world. "

Simpels.

He's doing the right thing, he's asked to be shown your ambition and been shown no reason to stay. Still just aiming for a top 4 finish. He'll get you more money than he's worth leaving this season, just like Nasri did. Yet you all turn on both of those while worshipping Fabregas when he was the one that bent you over.

Like the United fans turned on Rooney? I remember that day clearly when the Utd fans claimed he was showing his true scouser colours and was then a 'granny fu3k3r' (fans words), I agreed none the less.

Many United fans, who had also been questioning the club's ambition since the Glazers took over, agreed with Rooney. It was a minority that turned on him, and even then it was only due to the signing for City rumours.

If he held the club to ransom and won why did he sign the same contract that was offered to him after getting assurances from the club?

Are you deluded?

Do you even know you players and team finances, do you knwo where Manchester is? Oyster dont go there bud!

Before he was on 80k a week, which went to 180k (200k with additions, Bonuses, etc etc) with the new contract.

How was that not a Ransom?

And to think we were kind enough to give you Silvestre!

Its only fair you now return the favor and give us RVP for £15M

posted on 31/7/12

Because that was what he was offered as a new contract, he then signed the contract that was offered. Not sure how much easier I can make it for you.

He got no extra money from handing in the transfer request so how did he win?

Just reading a few of the above comments and as an Arsenal fan think that fans need to wake up.

Arsenal are no longer title contenders and will not be so for the forseeable future.

Ergo we are no longer rivals of City and United.

RvP (like numerous afc players before him) have realised that the club are now run as a business first and a football club second. He wishes to compete for honours in the remaining years of his career and wants to move on. Good luck to him.

The sad thing is that the same Arsenal fans who are calling him a money grabber would gladly have him remain at Arsenal if he signed a new contract - for more money...

You couldn't make it up.

Read some news articles from 2010 bud.

No it wasnt, he was offered less (Max 150k), and he wanted 200k cause he knew he could get that at City, he didnt get it, handed in request, and the Man U response was got 30k more along with 20k potential bonuses.

So HE DID WIN.

All RvP was asking for was the going rate for one of the best strikers in Europe.

It's not his fault that afc employ a wage policy that is financially inept.

He doesn't need links. He lives in London and that's where all United fans, even closet ones like himself, are from.

He signed the origional contract offer in place, this was confirmed by the club.

The sun imfamously told the world he was eventually offered 250k a week, this includes image rights ect. Which were in the origional contract.
