About Dennis Bergkamp, I think it's worth remembering that he played well into his 30s so it's only natural that his average goalscoring rate would have been diluted down (his scoring rate up until his late 20s was very respectable). Also, it's not that he couldn't finish (I actually think he was quite a tidy finisher), but that his role changed significantly as he aged and Henry was introduced into the side. During Arsenal's double winning season in 98 he played as a mixture of a no.9 and no.10, but by the turn of the century he was playing more and more as a strict no.10 with very little goalscoring responsibility (the shooting stats back that up - averaging something like 40 shots per season).
Yeah, he was pretty much solely a playmaker for about half of his Arsenal career.
Does anyone else think Lionel Messi has become boring these days? When he first switched to a centre forward position he was a joy to watch and had the perfect balance between attacking the 6 yard box, dropping deep to thread passes, dribbling from deep and scoring from outside the box. The variety of goals and assists he displayed in the 2010/2011 season was extraordinary. Nowadays he just seems to be interested in breaking goalscoring records and scoring poacher's efforts. Maybe it's because I don't watch as many live matches as I used to but that's the impression I get.
yeah hes boring renoog.
Hazard is so much more fun to watch.
Don't get me wrong he's developed into a lethal finisher, whether one-on-one or surrounded by players in a box, and it makes sense to get the best out of that ability, but I feel he's not displaying his full talents of late.
Still, his goals do make for good viewing, although I'd say more because of the unerring precision rather than the "wow" factor:

His brilliance is so routine, nothing he does is surprising anymore.
Also let me take this opportunity to say that I really admire Cristiano Ronaldo as a pro and he is a f@%£YHg incredible player
I like him too.

Hello renoog! You've been quite active today!
Why do you never use twitter?!
Hello Kamran Yeah I've been busy doing work today and I've pretty much been on the PC all day so thought it would be nice to pop by again!
I don't really have anything interesting to talk about, and it's quite hard to have in-depth discussions on there. Much prefer ja606, although of course twitter does connect you with a far bigger community.
I see.
I agree tbh, but there's just something about twitter. So many deluded people on there.
Good to see you around anyway
