Afternoon

IOAG I think it was because I was inactive on it for so long, I logged back in a couple of weeks ago though and it's back up now.

It would be pretty easy to identify the people on that article who don't actually watch La Liga.

There's a difference between lack of respect and being a fúcknugget though

You know how good they are but don't like them, a scenario which seems impossible to certain people.

You don't have to like something to respect it and see its quality.

Much like the way i feel about Sir Alex.

liked the comment that said they lacked quality in all areas bar midfield

Absolutely

Puyol and Pique - Two of the least successful defenders you will ever see, along with Villa up front who couldn't hit a barn door for Spain.

What is it with the BBC's obsesssion with David Beckham?

They've even started doing a minute-by-minute breakdown of all his actions on the pitch, including listing all the times he played a crossfield pass and made a tackle. Even discussions he had over freekicks
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22010825

I appreciate he's playing abroad and therefore it might be of interest for the BBC to occasionally update readers about how he's getting on, but I don't recall the likes of Michael Owen or Steve McManaman for instance being afforded the privilege of this blanket coverage. The worst thing isn't the amount of coverage itself, it's the lack of respect shown to teammates, opponents etc. Everything he's involved in becomes the David Beckham show, the BBC only started doing live coverage of the Milan derbies a few seasons back because he was playing in it, as if 2 great teams packed with world class players weren't quite worthy of attention until David Beckham came along. I suspect that the website is run by starstruck little girls.

i agree renoog.
McManaman was actually pretty useful at Madrid too

Becks should give most of his career earnings to his marketing team

It's pretty cringeworthy at best. At worst it demonstrates everything wrong with modern football and society.

There was a time when David Beckham was a footballer, rather than a gimmick.

Advantage Malaga.

FT 0-0. Based on historic results, a 0-0 away draw gives Borussia Dortmund a 67.4% of advancing to the next round.
