Yeah Melo, I think top guns is right about
Charlie Nicholas being the last Scot to play for Arsenal.
Remember us being quite heavily linked to Barry Ferguson when he was still at Rangers though.
Wenger might have said something along the links of there not being much quality in Scotland..?
Basically if players are not young and British it is not worth buying PL players. Obviously there are a few exceptions but mostly the good players are way too expensive. I would rather look abroad for some players of much higher quality for the same value who may flop but may also become amazing.
"Llorente is up there as one of the best strikers in the world."

I am amazed that Sunderland are willing to pay 12m+ for the lad. Now an Arsenal fan is suggesting that he might be good enough for them! I'm sorry, but the world must have gone mad. A player of Berbatov's quality is available for about 5m and teams are offering 12m for Fletcher. Even worse, there are now persistent rumours that they have actually offered 14m. It is just crazy.
If I wanted to bring any striker to Arsenal to replace RVP, it would be Falcao (just because Ibra is more of a playmaking forward, and we have similar, although inferior, players)
What have you been smoking? Fletcher is nowhere near Arsenal standard. Never.
"Llorente is up there as one of the best strikers in the world."
You're churning out the tagline.
Yesterday it was "Chelsea have the best defence".
Llorente is the definition of a decent player. I think his strength is a real advantage in La Liga, on average the players in La Liga are small and technical therefore defenders aren't as strong and are trained to stop intricate passing. I think Llorentes strength and aerial ability is overrated by the La Liga defenders. In the PL he would become an average striker.

Elvis trying to sell us Berbatov.
We don't want him. And no we're not selling RVP.

Sadly, he's right. Having said that though, there are a couple of exciting prospects:
Jamie Forrest at Celtic is a lively young winger.
The midfield dynamo that is Fraser Fyvie has just moved to Wigan.
Jamie Ness and John Fleck were making waves at Rangers until recently. I think we all know what happened there.
We've always been capable of producing young players with promise but only once in a blue moon do we produce a player who can actually make good on that promise.
Which sucks.
"You're churning out the tagline."
That's what I do.
Seriously though, Llorente is the best striker in La Liga outside of the Big Two and MAYBE Falcao.
''Llorente is up there as one of the best strikers in the world.''
Yet again Saint spouting his nonsense.
Coming from Samir
Guys, he thinks Lewandowski is better
Lewandowski is better than Llorente tbf...
This is a very elaborate wum. Fletcher.
Llorente is average and overhyped, giroud is clearly better.
Lewandowski is better than Llorente tbf...

You wouldn't be saying this had you seen the German Super cup on sunday.
I would take Lewandowski everyday of the week, good with the ball on the ground and in the air, and can chip in with a few assists. He would make a decent replacement for RVP imo
Saint:
Song one of the best players in the league
Wilshere better than Arteta
Arteta not important to Arsenal
Rosicky better than Arteta
Chelsea best defence in the league
Llorente better than Falcao

Thank you.
Lewandowski and Llorente's on par.
What was ridiculous about Samir's point, was that he was under the impression Lewandowski's this technical Ibrahimovic esque player, when in fact he's a slightly better Bendtner who has integrated into a top team.
Llorente better than Falcao

I didnt say that to be fair...

I did see it. He didn't have a great game, but he still scored.
I saw him play plenty of times last season, he's a good player. Certainly better than Llorente who's decent, but nothing more.
Gomez is better than both.
