All this BR's system etc....
Surely he is thinking about the lack of goal threat and will have to address it ASAP!
Also saying that do u think we are missing Clarke? Our defensive is a bit of a shambles to put it politely....
I mean what was Skrtel thinking of?
we need better than defoe, sick to death of overrated average english shiiit coming to our club
The defenders are just adapting to new things.
We are marking zonally again from set pieces, they are being asked to play more and hoof less (not that we never played, but now they are encouraged to always play).
These changes take some time to adapt to. They will become 2nd nature, but until then our defence will have a transitional phase.
Needing a goal threat does not mean buying any old poacher who does not fit the team ethic.
You can't just ignore the system, because if we are to achieve anything under BR it will be all about the system, all about the team, not about individuals.
Sorry Prankster, but his goals and conversion rate point to a much better than average striker..in fact its very good. Funy how perception of somebody actually distorts the truth; a bit like zonal marking, everyone slated it but under Rafa we had one of the best defensive receords..as i say, perceptions distoting truths.
Defoe really is not what we need right now. Dempsey is a much better all rounded player and will be cheaper
Guys...i have discussed it with u b4 and would say this again.
U do need a good finisher to get the maximum mileage out of ur midfield control. What good is controlling a game if it ends in a draw as the strikers could not take their chances.
And to be honest, Dafoe would not be a bad shout.
I agree with OP in regards to Borini who is yet to convince me and can't be relied on score 25+ in all comps. The problem is that we can't buy a striker until we sell Carroll.
We can buy dempsey if we can flog Adam and/or Spearing
I think its going to be mental the last few days of the transfer market:
Adam (£5M), Spearing(£3M),J Cole(£5M) and Carroll(£18M) imo LFC will be trying to get moved on while Dempsey and a striker will come in.( my figures i am guessing there or there abouts)
If we get them all gone then £31M (ish) to burn on a striker and Dempsey; Dempsey wil i imagine be about £7M so looking at about £24M for a striker....any ideas??
With our past dealings in the market, £24m = Emile Heskey!

I have to agree with AHB Defoe and Sturridge are not team players. They get the ball and they only have one thing on their mind and that is getting a shot off even though they may have a team mate screaming fur the ball in a better position.
Greedy players don't fit in with pass and move teams.

J Cole(£5M)
**************
Wishful thinking there mate. I reckon if Cole goes it will be on a free. Who would be stupid enough to stump up cash for an injury-prone 30+ year old who hasn't had a good season in the Premiership for at least 3 years? (Not including us that is!).
The size of his wages will also greatly affect the fee we can ask for him. Can see us getting more than 2 mill for him.
People I know who are on twitter say that Owen's name is being linked with us. Would we, could we, should we?
If he signs for us I'll be livid!

I'd rather have Berbatov than Owen despite him being a lazy g*t, having huge wage demands and the chances of Fergie letting him come to us being less than zero.
Firstly, we wouldn't sell unless we got Damiao (unlikely). Secondly, the only reason we would sell is because he doesn't fit into 4-3-3 which is what AVB and Rodgers always play.
Give him a run in any team and he'll score goals. However, in modern football (with managers like Rodgers and AVB) the goal poacher is no longer enough. I'm surprised you didn't try and hijack the Ade deal, he's the type of striker you really need.
Owen would be a good option if Carroll went!
but obviously only as an impact player and he would be a good mentor to the likes of Borini and even Suarez could learn a thing or two
But obviously I would prefer another strategy IMO
On a pay as you play basis !

Exactly what he said.
We don't need a Torres. We need a player who'll work hard for the team and can link up well with the other players. Instead of them just feeding him.
WTF?? We DONT need a Torres!!!!!! You what? We DO absolutely need a Torres. Let me put it this way, if we got a player who scored 20-25 goals a season then top 4 and above id say would be a given!
i bet you we wait until january before we sort out our strikers and i bet you again that we sign darren bent from villa for about £12million.
i'd just make a £15m bid for huntelaar who hasn't been given a new contract yet and has a buy out clause of £17million. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2159663/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-leave-Schalke-17m.html
so sell carroll for as much as possible anything north of £15million and buy huntelaar for £17million. problem solved
