You don't know for sure if he is good enough to replace Van Persie or not. The likelihood is he will never be as good as Van Persie, and there is a possibility he won't be any good at all but it is too early to say he is not good enough already.
Re the rival thing, yea I was talking about title rivals. We won't be competing for the title, not a chance, I expect us to finish at least 15 points behind 2nd place.
Which bring us down to the issue we can mutually agree on. We shouldn't be happy with that because before RVP left, seriously I only thought Evra, Rooney & Vidic were good enough to get into our XI we looked really strong!
In the case that you believe United aren't rivals then I guess he is slightly irrelevant though I still believe the better he does over there the more we may demand off Giroud.
