At last, somebody with a rational view and comments.
I have supported the Reds for 60 years and will be here for another 60 so keep rolling Brendan

i don't listen to the phone ins anymore. they just get people on who just talk gibberish. to sack this manager would be the worst decision. we've just brought in a number of players designed to play in this system. if we change again, we get a new manager who can't use these players and gets rid like brendan has rightfully done so. we need to give BR at least two more transfer windows before we can judge him

The 606 idiots are rival fans pretending to support our club. That's the problem with a radio phone in..anyone can pretend to support somebody for a laugh

To be honest I don't think it's even a question to sack Brendan at this stage nor any time in the future.

I'd rather stick with Brendan and finish 17th than sack him and keep starting a fresh.

Brendan needs a minimum of 2 years but during that 2 years he needs to be allowed to bring in players and he needs to be allowed to do things his own way

Exactly...at least it's a manager with a clear philosophy and one that doesn't involve hoof ball.
He WILL turn it around but I don't think fsg will be here to see it...club will be sold.
Ask yourselves, would sterling be starting if KD was still here?

Agreed TVJ.

I know I'm probably way more anti Kenny than I should be (let's not forget I was born after he left the club first time round) but I much prefer Brendan as a person and feel he is paying the price for Kenny's wastefulness in the market.

Would you really?

Just hovering above relegation.

Dare you to say you'll accept relegation.

Go on.

Football had moved on from when KD first managed. He had too many issues with media that didn't help his cause.
If we sack Brendan at the end of the season then we can bang that final nail in the coffin as there is no more scope for rebuilding....we need to back him 100%

Yes because things take time.

We aren't going to be the relegation zone. Let's not forget that Swansea were awful in their first few games last season and grew in stature last season. We aren't going to be facing the likes of Arsenal and City every week.

Your just being an idiot. If 17th means the club moves on and that facilitates future success then so be it. Relegation would offer no such hope would it?

Wishi.....i think from some of your comments you like me are clearly upset and frustrated but one of the things i am 100% happy with is BR....he needs time and support. there would be no point in fact it would be crazy to even suggest not giving him time to implement his own methods

Why? Because I possess my own mind and haven't joined the FSG hive-mind? In terms of getting in the players that BR wanted, I think that to some extent he has been let down, leaving his squad short of numbers. I would have expected a bit more professionalism and flexability from the men signing the cheques and brokering the deals.

We need to stick with the manager and regardless of league position I hope we do. The managers position shouldn't be a merrygoround, we desperately need some stability and I believe that given time and resources, BR will be a success.

I love Kenny and all but he's quickly turning out to be the worst thing thats happened to us since Roy Hodgson!

Our fans are just spoilt expecting the impossible! FSG are not to blame for our current woes and neither is BR! Some people just need someone to blame but are too dumb to know who they should really be blaming.

I think you definately have to appreciate that it's going to take time for a new manager to impose his ideas. Afterall it's not like Roberto di Matteo won the Champions League in his first season, so 17th is a very healthy aim.

Actually thats all the lowest form of wit and a poor attempt at that.

But seriously, I can see your midfield playing some nice football. But concerned about the lack of end product, and if you're struggling to score you put yourself under more pressure at the other end.

Fred

I know what you mean about some of our fans. I was listening to 606 tonight. It was embarrassing. Calls for Kenny to come back, and calling out Rodgers as clueless etc. I was listening to TalkSport (I know, I know) and there were fans on there calling for Rafa to come back. Will we get a bit of bloody perspective. Rodgers hasn't even had 10 games in charge. Give him a chance, and stop harking back to the past.

The manager needs all the support we can give him. The owners though have got questions to answer. I said on another article earlier, and it was echoed by some callers on 606, that an explanation is needed from the owners. They need to publicly cone out and explain why the Dempsey desk collapsed, and why other targets weren't persued. They also need to re-assure us fans of what their ambition is for our club. It's all well and good making documentaries about the inner workings of the club. But they need to communicate with us fans more effectively. This might lead to better understanding

I've actually started to dislike some of our fans. Unfortunately the most stupid are usually th emost voalc, both on the radio phone ins, on message boards, forums, twitter etc etc.

I hate the kneejerk overreactions, I hate the lack of patience, I hate the fickleness. I can pretty much guarantee that all those complaining today were pretty happy last week after Man City.

An example from one poster who I won't name.

After Man City game.

"Brilliant game disappointed though cos we played them off the park in the second half.
However if this is the sign of things to come then happy days!!!"

After today's game, same person

"We have little to no quality in the side. No cutting edge. No plan B and just so so poor"

I know we were quite poor today, but how did this one fan, change in the space of a week from thinking we were brilliant, and he was happy if this was the sign of things to come, to saying that the side has no quality.

Its utterly ridiculous.

Some of us know that it will take time. There's a new manager, new style of playing, new formation and new players in important positions. It isn't going to click straight away. There will be days we play well, there will be days we won't. Today we didn't.

Grr bloody i phone, anyway

......... This might lead to better understanding if their motives, and ambition, and subsequently a bit of patience from us fans.

You don't have to join the FSG hive or whatever you call it but if your going to have a go use some common sense! BR left out to dry?? Explain how you got to that conclusion.
Hardly any manager gets all their targets in in a transfer window. It doesn't always all go according to plan.

If you believe BR will get it right if given time then it certainly doesn't show in your demeanour. Its like your just saying it because its a convenient thing to say.

In my opinion, two thirds of Kenny's reign were a success,

In the first third he did excellently, raising fans expectations along the way to unrealsistic levels. His second third, he did reasonably well, kept us in the cups and kept the team in touch with the top 4.

The last third was very poor, fell away badly in the league, but won us a trophy and reached the final of another.

Yes, the club overspent on certain players. The panic buying of Carroll being the obvious one. However, the men signing the cheques and the man who negotiated the deals must also carry the can for this. The reality is that under kenny the club spent £30m net. I would argue that when other factors are weighed up, namely the 17 assorted millionaires and billionaires who bought the club on the cheap, the excellent work done to improve revenue streams, the stadium being put back and the massive wage bill cut, laying the blame of our current predicament at Dalglish's feet smacks of scapegoating to me. Scapegoating a man who has done more for the club and it's fans then any one alive on planet earth leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Again in English;

They need to publicly come out and explain why the Dempsey DEAL collapsed.
