Not always, often the first team squad don't try to impress like some of the backup players do. There has been so many examples of this in recent times.

The XI allows us to see how our secondary unit gel as a team - it is also pretty strong.

Perisic and Solomon suit our system better than Kulu/Son. Will be nice to see Richy with crossing wingers.

Then PEH is obviously a good player, Skipp started the season in the first XI, as did Royal. Ben Davies has been consistently good for us & VDV is a gem.

Forster is possibly the only worry in that XI for me.

Spurs played their strongest XI in the game they got knocked out in, in 3 of the last 4 domestic cup knockouts (forest, middlesbrough & chelsea).
