To be fair if you'd have lost that game to say Fulham or Brighton say then you might have a reason to complain but City can, and have beat damn near any team in the world so it's not a disaster?
You're a better team than this time last year, missing some hugely important players and were maybe a bit off with your passing tonight, I'd assume that this time next season you'll be better again? If the board can get behind Ange and get a few players in, get some out then you'd have to be positive don't you think?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And there’s that perspective I was talking about 👍🏼

Whats up with Ange btw? he can barely string two sentences together without coughing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought that a few weeks ago. Got Walter White vibes but I think it’s just screaming during the game rather than anything sinister. Unless he does it in his press conferences?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
googled it, can be dry cough or smoking/bad eating habbits. Nothing too serious i hope. Did notice it before and thought maybe just a cold or sumin but hes done it for months now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Peps done it for a few years in interviews and press conferences when he’s in a certain mood. Think it’s just a mental thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has the same cough as my father in law. Persistent dry cough which in my father in laws case is cause by ramipril which he takes for high blood pressure. Willing to bet Ange with his age and smoking history is on a blood pressure tablet and that type of cough is a very common side effect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah does he do it all the time? Not noticed it aside from sometimes after games like Pep.

Yeah I don’t think we were bad. Thought some of our quick passing and tight space play was excellent (apart from PEH’s feck ups) but it was the final third where we were hesitant and indecisive. Our defence is really good and I think on another day with Biss, Sarr and Son around and Madison match fit we could win that - we aren’t as far away as you might think.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Should have just risked starting Maddison or at least played him for longer. Our last chance to win a trophy and Maddison if playing well increases our chances of winning that game. Our forward line is so noticeably bereft of creativity and threat without Son and Maddison.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maddison didn’t look match fit at all and Ange obviously knew that based on his comments pre match. For a player that has been out 3 months that’s the worst game to come back into with the intensity that City played at tonight - judging by his 25 minute cameo it looked the right decision not to start him IMO. Hopefully that game time will have prepped him for Brentford.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A not 100% match fit Maddison probably still offers more than either Werner or Johnson going forward.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s not gonna play in either of their positions though is he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No but when that's all you've got to rely on, barring a somewhat resurgent Rich, we were never really going to score today against City or give them a good enough test.

Oh no doubt, Kane is a magnificent player and one of the best goal scorers about ATM but if he'd stayed up top the passing as was would still have lacked and if he'd dropped deeper as he can there might not have been anyone there to take advantage, I do not doubt however that any team with Harry in it would "do better"

I agree because he would've stretched them more. The van over the top to Richy was never on cos he's not quick enough. He needs the ball put on his toe or placed on his head. Good tracking back etc. I don't hate him. But we're never getting him that kind of service reliably against City. Whoever's in midfield.
I mean, it's easier for the CBs to compress the midfield with Richarlison up front vs Son. Plus Dias is a beast. I reckon we'd have to have dropped the ball on his head a few times to get a decent effort on goal
Bissouma would've made us less panicky at the back, Sarr would've meant Kulusevski could play RW and maybe create a bit more. Overall though I thought we played well just met a better opponent. Still unlucky to lose IMO.

He wanted the move away but would have been prepared to stay as well. He said himself he would stay if he was still here by the time the season started and we ended up selling him just before.
This Spurs team with Kane in it would have been worth it even for one more season, if that's all we were going to get. What's £100m more to us anyway? We've spent a large chunk of that already on Johnson and he's so far divided opinion.

Do you think if we had Kane tonight we'd win that game?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe but maybe not? Your passing in the final third was poor if honest and even Harry dropping deep might not have made much of a difference with no one else up top?
That said most teams would be better with him playing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe depends on what mood he's in. The Kane that almost singlehandedly won us the game a few years back, would have won us that. You're talking about having a world class player in the team anyway so automatically gives you more possibility to win it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh no doubt, Kane is a magnificent player and one of the best goal scorers about ATM but if he'd stayed up top the passing as was would still have lacked and if he'd dropped deeper as he can there might not have been anyone there to take advantage, I do not doubt however that any team with Harry in it would "do better"
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But he can also hold up the ball well and play better passes than nearly all our players can. Him and Maddison together you'd like to think would offer us more than what we put out.
I know it's irrelevant because we don't have Kane anymore but in moments like this in our season, along with that string of losses after the Chelsea game, it is looking like that was an unwise decision to sell him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Given the choice I don't think there's a Spurs fan that would have wanted him sold but maybe he fancied a move but with hindsight he might regret it a wee bit? New manager, new players and a new approach and attitude, would be interesting to see this Spurs team with Harry in it

Son, Bissouma and Sarr available and we win that. Fact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep. Son up front and we would've caused them a lot more problems. Richarlison did well but he's not worrying them in behind
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t agree, Son would have received the same 0 quality balls that Richy did
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree because he would've stretched them more. The van over the top to Richy was never on cos he's not quick enough. He needs the ball put on his toe or placed on his head. Good tracking back etc. I don't hate him. But we're never getting him that kind of service reliably against City. Whoever's in midfield.

*ball over the top
