Someone in the squad should take it upon themselves to practice free kicks and set pieces religiously, so that they get good at them and we have a set piece taker for the opposition to fear. I don't believe anyone does this, and I don't even believe we put in much practice as a squad.

This is something Poch should be doing more about.

We've always been terrible at set pieces. Even 'Arry openly admitted that we don't practice set pieces.

Every game we play, the opposition put dangerous balls into the box. We're lucky to beat the first man or the wall...

No excuse not to practice them. It's stupid and arrogant if you think that just having good players or good crossers of a ball equates to good set pieces. We don't even have any good crossers anymore though, apart from Eriksen, who may be leaving. Speaking of Eriksen, I would love to know what happened that he was once so good at them and ended up so bad. Some real negligence going on there.

We have some tall guys in the squad and some good headers of the ball but we never make the most of it.

Can anyone summarise the performance for me?

It was awful, the only player that looked any good was Moura. Dele poor, Son poor, Kane did nothing, Sissoko poor, Winks average, Eriksen had 20 minutes and didn`t touch the ball. Very disjointed turgid performance, although a lot of the youngsters started and finished the match. But even so the senior players should have been up for it, and they simply were not.

Blimey I thought I was the only one that thought it was shat. Glad somebody agrees. Most reckon it will be alright on the night, where have we heard all that before.

It was what, the second game of pre season? Played in Shanghai which was no doubt unpleasantly hot and humid. I'm going to keep my knickers untwisted for now.

It wasn’t their intention, but sometimes when you are tired you arrive late and somethings can happen and I was worried because in this period of preparation it is sometimes you need to be aggressive and you need to play with passion but sometimes the focus is to build your fitness and develop the way you want to play.

“Of course I was worried, Manchester United, Eric Bailly got injured and I am sorry for that but he was alone and always when the players start to build their fitness and start to fight for their place in the team, when something happens in the pre-season it’s always tough and I was a little bit worried but in the second half the game was a bit more relaxed.”

Moura comes on scores. Looks better.

In hindsight now but should have played Moura instead ok Alli in CL final.

it was obvious before the CL final too.... Alli was awful most of the season... poch's favouritism for certain players is one of the few areas he needs to improve on.
