Don tell me about it. So frustrating watching Lennon's balls not find their targets on a constant basis. Any smidgen of excitement he offered has evaporated.
We desperately need upgrades on the flanks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But at this time we haven't, so what's the point of keep moaning about it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It makes me feel better
I know you like Lennon Hengy, but do you not think we could do better than him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course I do Spurtle, just don't think there at our club
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't necessarily mean at our club. I mean we need to bring in fresher talent now. Players that have more chance of improving. There have to be some.

Ceballos ?? Falque (if you push it) ?? Baby Bale ??

Or from other clubs? Someone like Redmond maybe? Or the guy we're meant to be linked to.
Watching Villa now, Benteke just scored and Delph is playing well. Let's take them too.
The 'out and out' winger talent in the world is pretty poor.
In the PL I can't really think of a wide-man who cuts inside that is 'consistent' except for those that are consistently sheit."
Maybe true but I can pick a big load of names that are better and more effective than Lennon on the wing.........Walcott, Chadli, Sterling, Navas, Chamberlain, Routledge, Dyer are all much more better and creative than Aaron Lennon. I'm not even mentioning the big name wingers either.
Always fearful of signing players to Spurs with "Bent" in their name.

Issue is, the only proper winger out of that lot is Navas (dont know much about Routledge or Dyer).
All the others are meant to get into the box as their primary objective, in the 'Inside Forward' mould.
Lennon's playing style is in a bracket that involves the likes of Valencia, Martinez (who is class tbf), Navas, Townsend.
eden, I just want a winger that is effective mate. Lennon hides away far to often and looks scared to me every time he plays for us these days. I think he has completely gone downhill as a player the last few years and frankly I'm fed up with him and the fact we seem to play him every week when he does nothing to justify being picked every week. You can't keep making excuses for him forever

You could have stopped after you said Spurs there. It's not like our record of signing anyone should make us feel confident, after the summer.
Lennon has been dreadful since Newcastle and deserves to be dropped. A different manager can get the best out of him I still believe.
There is no point playing a wideman who relies on creativity in the midfield to get the best out of him, if we dont have that.
Either we need a winger who is better designed to coming inside and creating something for himself. Or, if we are going to stick with Lennon, sign a player like Hudd/Modric etc who can actually get Lennon the ball when he makes his runs.
Also, its 'Edin'. Not difficult to spell a four letter word.
Adam Johnson is another who is better than Lennon.
"It's not like our record of signing anyone should make us feel confident, after the summer."
We haven't done so bad over the past decade.
Spurs wouldn't have consolidated in the PL as they have, if the signings were annually not contributing to the increasing ability of the squad. Whether the signings last summer are akin to those of 2008, time will tell.

does it really matter if I called you eden instead of edin. That's not really important is it whilst we are supposedly having a normal football debate.
Not overly important, just prefer not being named after a Chelsea cannnt
Edam'ed if you spell it wrong, Eden'ed if you don't.
Right, that's fine. Come back at me with a comment like that then that's banter and I will laugh. But don't try and be clever with your "it's not hard to spell a 4 letter word" bulls hit
