It doesn’t look the same. V city earlier there was a pattern - quick turn over of possession with fast passing forward - absolutely none of that today - it’s been stodgy in the middle and directionless

Definitely the execution and end result has been poor. Lucas was terrible in the first half and Lamela takes too long on the ball. I'm guessing that's why he pushed Ndombele forward then tried Dele. I don't think it's helpful to equate players' performances with tactics. As if Jose would tell them to play crap

I don’t think he tells them to play - that’s the problem. For weeks now as well our ability to transition quickly on the counter has got worse to the point we are completely passive - win the ball and there is no movement - it just goes backward, or in Lucas case, to the opposition.

We’ve clearly been different to the last game vs City. That game we happily defended in a back 6 with the DMs dropping beside the CBs and Kane playing as a 10 with Son/Bergwijn being the most attacking two - and with good attacking fullback outlets.

This game the plan was definitely different, defensive fullbacks - so the onus was on the likes of Lamela and Lucas to create. Probably the two most unreliable players to create in our team

Oh come on mate. That is such a losers mentality. No game should be a write off or a free hit, we aren’t Burnley. Nobody at this club demands success, that mentality infects every layer of the culture of THFC from the fans to the players to board. The whole season has been unacceptable but with where we are currently a result at City was never going to happen, it was always going to be what happens in the games afterwards.

City will run away with the league. Our concern is the teams we're competing with for top 4.

If we are ever going to turn a corner (doubtful I know) from the rubbish form and performances we've seen in the last month, this game wasn't going to be part of us turning that corner is all I'm saying. We might have already possibly turned a bit of a corner and have an ok run after this. City are that good that they could have beaten us in the midst of us being on a few wins today.

It’s not the result - we can all agree defeat was likely, it’s the context of the performance. The body language, the weak mentality, the individual errors, the lack of strategy. You are watching an extremely badly coached team - and yet people keep holding onto the belief of ‘we might turn a corner’ or ‘if we don’t beat west ham I might change my mind’. Get real. We are done, this team isn’t turning any corners, isn’t winning any silverware and isn’t finishing in a European spot.

Well we may as well hope to turn a corner while Jose is here cause we don't know when he'll be sacked.

Individual errors are as much down to the players as the coaching, they've been with us for yonks through much of Poch's tenure too. The last couple of games showed this team haven't completely given up under this manager, he hadn't lost the dressing room, and he had shown a lack of negativity. Even today the line up was ok I felt, although the Sissoko sub was poor.

We made 3 mistakes which lead to goals. Tiredness was always going to come into play.
