Been rumours of this sort of thing for a week or more now.

Don't see how it can possibly work - the vast majority of tickets will be people activating their smartcards for the game -- this is usually done on line or on the phone, which stops the idea of selling a programme with a voucher.

Whilst the idea may appeal to those who say "ram it" (and there are certain circumstances I would agree) - in this one I cannot see it happening.

Can't do it apparently....the prices need to be agreed by both clubs......so I expect all will be as normal.

If true, would come back to haunt us; stupid idea..

It's just a rumour - but i really hope they do it.

i switched off Clyde the other day when someone compared Rangers to Christ

I heard him and suspected he was boolshitting.
---------
Pointy thats actually what worried me - I thought the guy sounded genuine.

Not some mad ranting maniac and while a little unsure of some points on the face of it had little of no reason to do this.

As for the learned panel - well Shug was on so if he says its true then it must be

tafka - i think you'll agree alot changed since Murrays statement. i think the apology came amidst the outcry, from fans (mostly celtic fans) that there was a lack of apathy from the club.

part of me thinks fck them and we should do it and then the more sensible part of me thinks that we should rise above the haters from other clubs, be the bigger man and lead by example.

these were the same fans who demanded their clubs vote no to newco in the SPL for sporting integrity reasons but didn't utter a peep when the SPL/ SFA were attempting to shoe horn Rangers in to the SFL1 to mitigate the financial hit on SPL clubs.

Also these fans who cried from the rooftops were told by their chairmen that in return for the club listening to their views they must back the club in return. so far that has been a pretty spectacular flop, sell out saturday for example.

another point, don't both the clubs need to agree the ticket prices? why on earth would an SPL agree to receiving 50p per ticket?

Can't see this happening.

If we do this once, every club will do it to us from now on. Not worth it.

This problem was of Rangers' making. Not the fans or current board mind you, but we can't take it out on the other teams.

----------
My view exactly.

-------
but then again so is listening to a football phone in run by numpties for numpties to call in
----------

Was in the car Zach....it was Talksport or Clyde and after hearing Adrian Durham slate Arsenal for the millionth time I flicked it over....

I was just pleased that I managed to keep control of the car while changing the radio station...me being a numpty an all...

Why?
Because the SPL clubs made their beds when they caved in to fan pressure and refused to admit us to the SPL. Apparently they dont need us, they dont need our money.

Rangers should aske the fans what to do - after all - thats the only fair way to decide things isnt it?

I'm usually in the kitchen making something to eat when the Clyde One Phone In is on and its dire.

I've listened most night for half an hour or so since the start of the season and every single night you get 3-4 callers who want to point out that Rangers are a new club and correct all the wrong things the media have said over the last 6 months.

Seriously people. Move on!

I dont think I've actually heard anyone on that show talk about an actual football match or player since Feb 14th.

Tafka as i understand it both clubs have to agree on a price drop if it falls below a certain limit

If it is possible and this goes ahead then they will only be making things alot harder for themselves ( financially) in the future

What are you talking about - your fans wanted this just as much?

Of course they need the money! Every club - including yours - needs money. Thats what made the decision harder - damned if the do and damned if they dont.

What were the other clubs to do - just ignore their fans?

We are all in this position now and need to get on with it. This daft course of action will do no one any good....

The difference is our fans had no power to decide on what league we ended up in.

So the fans views should be used to decide then? thats good, hopefully Rangers will put this idea to the fans.

Was actually an interesting issue the guy brought up. There has been speculation that with Rangers gone there would be a call for split gates in SPL matches.
This is one mechanism mooted by clubs who would be adversely effected by such a move .
Was treated in the ussual Clyde mocking style but you can bet it is a topic that has been disscussed in many boardrooms around the country.
