You cannot complain that a Club that is purchased and owned outright spend money. United are in debt - how would you feel if the FFP rules simply stated "any club in debt cannot purchase a player"?
Ji - rather than claim someone is an idiot, try debating the points raised otherwise i will just think you're another gloryhunting tool...
how would you feel if the FFP rules simply stated "any club in debt cannot purchase a player"?
Confused, that would not make any sense and wouldn't solve anything
When City fans show mock concern for small clubs, it doesn't wash with me. And those clubs would have had a far better chance of a top 4 finish, had sugar daddy involvement not come about. Finish 6th, what do you do? Spend close to 100 million in one window of course!
Wonder - the likelihood of these rules making any difference is little. It would make sense and also stop clubs getting into debt...
Anyone who references Utds debt in any argument about ffp clearly has no clue about the issue.
Great article ender, most local lads or posters on here with city friends will remember when city fans railed against utd and how money was ruining football.
The complete about face is so ridiculous, it's laughable
So this argument is simply jealousy about Citys spending power.
Financial Fair Play will not be fair. Basing a clubs spend on their turnover is ridiculous on two levels. Firstly, how can you decide when to start it? A few clubs have had the privilige of a ridiculously seeded competition which ensured they'd get wealthier and an immense global presence. How was that fair?
Secondly, what is to stop Man City setting up a car wash? They could get Richard Wright to wash cars for the bargain price of £100m - a few Seikh's cars per year should do it.
And Wright would have something to do...
United aren't in debt, the glazers are. I know it's hard for you to understand being a dingle, but united never go over their means and never have done. Soon either the glazers move on or they pump all their money into united making united what they were pre glazer.....either way united are in a good position and if the rules say no debt, then good as it means no other club will suffer a rake over by people who don't have the money to buy the club in the first place!!
Why do you think United's owners are keen on FFP? United is a cash cow - a brand, a media company. The only way it could go wrong is if they have a sustained period of poor performace. Then all the 'followers' will go somehere else. FFP is just a mechanism to remove that variable. For United it has nothing to do with fairness - its just a way to cement the status quo and pile up the returns on teh leveraged buy out. By all means support FFP but please shed the hypocrisy.
Good way of putting really and you're right, united fans want ffp to united remain to dogs. But on the other hand and this is my feelings, I just want cheaper season tickets so my family can watch united. The glazers are everything that is wrong with football and if no debt was part of ffp then great! But united is a cash cow but it's always will be a football club, as without the supporters and the local community the club dies and it's something that has been lost with united.....boy I miss the 70s!
Both sets of fans want different things purely through selfish reasons, because it will benefit their club, how hard is that to admit?
UKW - The Glazers put the debt onto the business they purchased. Before accusing others of being simple, maybe a trip to the real world would be useful.
On here there's lots of jealousy of City's spending power and a lack of appreciation for what you've had. In the eyes of many you've been in a fortunate position through both football and football politics. How the balance is redressed i do not care...

True. And i said as much very recently on this forum. What shocks me is when the City fans some how claim that FFP would ruin the league and destroy the hopes of mid table clubs. That makes no sense. City fans will enjoy their success and why not? But for them to claim that what they're doing is some how good for English football is an absolute joke and you won't hear anyone support their view (including fans of the clubs they claim they're helping) say otherwise.
Hypocrisy, a wonderful thing. So what is wrong with a club living within its means?
Everton, Spurs and co were doing it and were almost there on merit, only for City to come in and destroy all their hard work.
Ffp will help everyone in the long run and it will encourage clubs to grow the commercial sides to their business and not reliant on hand outs
and saying United cannot buy players isn'y simple? If you start with comments like that expect simple remarks like mine....swings and aroundabouts mate!
FFP, PPI, ROI, CBA, LOL, BRB
LMFAO
!
Yes City are cracking up despite having just won the PL title and 7 points from 9 in 3 tough opening games
You United fans are so obsessed with them and have such an inferiority complex it's quite laughable actually
inferiority thats the biggest joke of all time, we are inferior to no one in england as a football club and as a fanbase and that is a FACT
I don't think Bubbles read the article.
Are we more laughable than those City fans who claim that what they're doing is good for football?
inferiority thats the biggest joke of all time
How come I've never heard it then?
you should be used to inferiority as a city fan or did you just become a city fan last summer?
