He still got a bigger chance of playing in CL this season that Spurs though!
Yet another case of grass isn't always greener. How many quality players have gone to that 'Dream Spanish Club' only to get buried becuase they aren't 'Galictico' enough. That being said Modric must have been the most overhyped player in The Premiership in the last 5 years. Just ludicrous hype for a player that was a good playmaker but, the way he was built up by fans and the media it was like he was Zidane or something
Let's be honest, modric is a class player. Good enough to play for real. But a part of me wants him to warm the bench due to his behaviour to get his move. That said, he came out and was very complimentary about spurs fans the other day
He's only played about 3 games and it's hardly better here
Don't be so bloody bitter. He have us 4 good years and left to go to the biggest club in the world for big money. Granted noone liked the way he went about it but fair play to him for pursuing his dream.
Madrid or London?
Spain or England?
Real Madrid or Tottingham Hotspur?
Ronaldo or Lennon?
Benzema or Defoe?
Alonso or Huddlestone?
No contest.
I never had a problem with Modric wanting to leave for bigger thing, it was the way he did it. No player should ever treat the club and fans that pay their wages like that.
I honestly despise Real, their antics on the pitch are sickening and they seem to have a collection of horrible players: Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Higuain to name a few.
In honesty they deserve one another but Modric is good enough for Real, I was him in his short stint against Barca and he showed he is truly world class.
His dream? He didn't dream of playing for real madrid, he just wanted to play for a champions league team with big wages. If it was "his dream" then why did he want to go to Chelsea last year? Bottom line is that if he really wanted to leave he'd have submitted a formal transfer request, but he didn't want to forfeit some cash so he let his agent do his bidding.
You would take Higuain in a heart beat BennyCool! He's better than anything you currently have upfront.
The Lion is roaring .....
TBH I always felt he would go but as has been said his and his poxy agents antics over the last 2 summers have left a very nasty taste in my mouth and I cannot wish him well because of this ........
Many decent players have left in the past Pat Jennings and Sol Campbell both left to join Arsenal but because of the way they left one is welcomed back and the other would be stabbed in the back
Sol Campbell is a good man
he just wanted to play for a champions league team with big wages

No ill feeling from me, I didn't like his sulking but he played very well for us while he was here and we made a killing on the transfer.
At least he went abroad rather than to Chelsea, United or City
Sol Campbell on the other hand.......

I thought last season he wanted his dream move to Chelsea. I agree with the OP, Spurs are well rid of the Modric. Dream move my harris, he went for the money, as they all do.
Afternoon Harry
Campbell only ever cared about how much money he could get , funny thing was he did the exact same thing to Arsenal as he did to us ......I bet he even kissed the badge a few days before he walked into the sunset on his way to another megga payday at Pompey
No footballers are allowed to have dreams in Sandy's world. They're all inhuman, money grabbing, emotionless mercenaries
Game today guys.
Let's move on from Modric maybe?

Dreams my backside.Everybody knows why he left Sprus, and he was not for a dream. Modric deserves absolutely no respect from me, and other fellow Spurs supporters the way he treated the club and the supporters, he refused to play at one point. Money grabbing little shiiiit. Stop trying to defend the indefensible.
Sory mate, but I am old school, he should think himself lucky to be earning all the money out the game. Nobody forced the little toad to sign a contract, he did that himself, and then thought it good to jump ship at the first sign of a better contract.

It's a mistake to assume that players have the same passion for the club as we do, the vast majority just regard playing football as a job, albeit a very well paid job in the top flight, and they will generally move to whoever offers the best terms and conditions.
Let's be honest, most of us would do exactly the same thing in our jobs if the opportunity arose, the difference being that most of us are not already earning £100K a week plus.
Luka ...We all know that he is your hero and can do no wrong , TBH we don't begrudge him his dreams just the fact that he was happy to sign a very lucrative contract and the way his agent used the media in every possible way to break that contract he had willingly signed only a year or so before
Sandy maybe he just wanted to join a better team
Got no problem with him wanting to leave, got no problem with him wanting more money: just pees me off when they don't just man up and clearly state they want to leave. Got no respect for all the underhand tactics such as strikes etc to get his own way.
