What about the latter stages, do you think we should mix it up a bit more or are you hapy to continue playing the same/our strongest team in all competitions?

Morning guys

back from my 3 weeks in the sun

4 wins out of 4 while away made my holiday fantastic

Think we should play the spine of the team but also rest a couple of different players each time so everyone gets a rest and just hope we dont get our strikers injured before jan

We are. Soon as you facked off we started winning.

Up for another holiday mate?

No.

But the injury situation is such that a fair number of the PL back four are probably going to have to play tonight.

And i thought he'd played quite well, until i was told yesterday he got roasted at every opportunity against United.

Not true mate, he had to keep going inside to cover other defenders, i thought he was fantastic and against utd away your going to get tested when they are throwing the kitchen sink at you..

its all about communication from both parties...a player shld tell the gaffer if he's blowing...the gaffer shld be able too see it...

with modern day sports science...the data shld reflect when a player needs a rest....

harry just ran the same players into the ground....

8/9 games into the season....i don't see much wrong in sunday....thurs...sunday....

but who knows...he may rest them elswhere....he's talking like he really wants too give the europa a go....

so it may come at the expense of league cup....

junction8,

Aren't these 2 statements a contradiction of eacother?

"its all about communication from both parties...a player shld tell the gaffer if he's blowing...the gaffer shld be able too see it...

And:

"harry just ran the same players into the ground...."

yeah...so either harry didn't use the stats avalaible...or choose too ignore them...

can anyone say they didn't feel like the players...were blowing in that bad trot...

parker looked about ready too collapse....

Or realised, but similarly the bench warmers were not match ready to step up.

posted on 4/10/12

again maybe....but there are plaenty of games too go around....

as above....for league..keep the spine...set in stone as much as poss....mix it up around that....

it also stems...from maybe not putting teams away early in games....especially at home....

where you cld afford too make 3 changes with 30 mins too go at 2...3 goals up...

and see it out comfortably....but as we all know....thats not the spurs way....

i am amazed how many people have been duped into thinking that vertonghen was great v man u.

i am warming to him, but that doesnt make me blind to his shortcomings.

the truth is that defensively he was marginally better than the appalling kyle walker. nani had the beating of him every single time, and did he actually ever block one of nani's 50 crosses into the box? that is the key key issue for any fullback... stop the supply line from your winger.

going forward though he was absolutely immense, and long may that continue.

get real people, dont let attacking influence mask your judgement on how a defender performs. gallas and caulker bailed him out time and time again

Perhaps AVB should set them a target of being 3-0 up at 60 mins for most home games, and then give them some hairdryer at FT if they weren't.

the problem in the second half was of the whole teams making , we sat to deep and tried to defend the final ball instead of stopping it coming in in the first place

2-0 at utd and with our record there it was always going to be like the alamo in the send half but we held firm and got the result so full credit to all the players

posted on 4/10/12

did i say we SHLD be doing that.....!?

no....i just said it cld help with squad rotation....

there is no right way to do it....

harry was right picking the stiffs....and kids last for games...until we went out.....

avb is wrong in some fans eyes...for going strong.....time will tell....

yes, but none of this changes the fact that some players played better than others... that is true whether you win 10-0 or lose 10-0.
