We need to start winning trophys again so lets go for it but rest different players each time if we have enough players availible
"harry was right picking the stiffs....and kids last for games...until we went out"
We rode our luck in the Europa games last season, until the PAOK game.
We shall see how AVB manages these games with the ongoing PL campaign.

get real people, dont let attacking influence mask your judgement on how a defender performs. gallas and caulker bailed him out time and time again
--------------------------------
I think maybe this clouded our judgement of walker last season as well.
at the start people acknowledged he was lacking defensively, but as the season wore on... he got young player of the year...
If it was purely down to his defending, he wouldn't have been anywhere near it...
------
you may be right.
he is vastly overated.
one of the lads i go spurs with thinks hes absolutely incredible.
he has been without doubt our poorest player this season (apart from benny), and needs to step it up massively or i think AVB will drop him for Naughton
At this rate, Naughton could find himself prime candidate for both RB & LB positions. What a contrast?!
I know I'm probably I'm the minority, but I think the Europa League is a farce, and has been totally ruined by UEFA. Fringe players for me (which should be plenty to get through anyway) and then take a different view once the proper UEFA cup starts after the needless group stages
Naughton must be RB#2 by definition.
Otherwise there is nobody to make Walker raise his game.
Regardless of whether you like Rose, his loan-out has been a bad decision (assuming he is still playing LB at Sunderland) .
On Walker - don't rule out Kaboul playing RB when he comes back if Kyle isn't performing and we are settled at CB

yeah UEFA pisssss on their own tournament.
the group stages are a pain, but i think we should play strongish teams to get the job done, get through the group with games to spare... and then all out rest the first team!

No. Several here share that view.
The group phase should just be used as a chance to keep the squad utilised while trying to top your group.
HRH,
I'm with you on that one.
The EL is priority 4 for me.
Obviously (it goes without saying), i want Spurs to win every game thay play, however, i would be happy to play a mix of fringe players all the way through the EL.
Chronic - you mentioned post-QPR that sluggishness from the Lazio game was probably an issue in our poor performance. I'd much rather take that out of the equation tonight and give others a chance. No Brad, Defoe, Bale, Lennon, Dembele, Sandro, Gallas, Walker or Verts (if Naughton is back) for me. Caulker and Dempsey the only starters

HRH. scroll down the board a bit.. on either monday or tuesday i named the side i would start in this game.
it rested some big names but still had enough quality to get the result.
oh and btw.. i believe that neither naughton or ade have travelled.

play walker. he needs some games to sort his shocking form out
Just looked - virtually the same sides there Chronic. Yeah, perhaps Walker if Naughton is out. The only other one of mine/yours I'd perhaps change is Mason for Falque
that would mean mason playing out of position.... surely we wanna put out youngsters in their best positions to help them develop?

as far as i am aware he hasnt travelled
Ok thanks guys, that's disappointing I'd have liked to see Ade start to compete more with Defoe for the lone striker role
I read somewhere AVB or Freund saying he'd had one training session so wouldn't be ready tonight, but possibly for Sunday
