Thought your best player was Defoe worked tirelessly, constant threat. Work ethic just fantastic on the day.
Always tired to make something happen on the ball.
I second that. Defoe was great
Defnitely Defoe for me, I was always afraid when he got the ball but I have to admit that I wasn't really scrutinising the opposition, I only had eyes for my blue stars
Modric, Huddlestone, VDV, Bale and Lennon was the best midfield I've seen at the club
I love watching Tommy but he needs some games. Looked a little low on confidence Saturday.
It was as hard a game for a CM we will get the way they set up, and the way our lleft-side was gave him and Sandro a lot of chasing and covering to do
defoe....
vert.....
tommy done well...in a game where MF was so key....and having been out for so long....just needs games into those legs now....start in CC match....
and be nice if we can get in a position in the game to give him as long as possible vs saints.
^^^ assuming bembele comes back in...if not...he'll most likely start again...
My M.O.M was Caulker........Don't forget with a full strength side it's very probable thatThudd , Caulks or JD would have been M.O.M

Dembele only failed a late fitness test , I'm really hopeful he'll be fine
I think if Dembele and Townsend had started instead of Dempsey and Sigurddson we would have definitely got something from the game, and we would have probably seen a bit more offensively from Huddlestone too.
Towsend would have given us more balance and wouldn't have left our left flank exposed as much as it was. It would have stretched Chelsea a bit and also given Ivanovic something to think about instead of just pushing up and compressing the midfield.
I mentioned on another post that when Chelsea had a GK that Cahill and Luiz went to the FB positions, Mikel dropped in to the centre and Cole and Ivanovic went in to midfield - that meant a congested midfield and a game that suited Chelsea's intricate forwards.
We played in to this by playing a LM in both halves (Dempsey and Siggy) who naturally come inside. This meant our CMs had their hands full defending and covering for Vertonghen as he had the whole flank to work
^On the above point - can you imagine if our front four had been Townsend, Lennon, Dembele and Defoe? Their fullbacks wouldn't want to push too far up the pitch because of the sheer pace we have with our wide players, and it would have meant Mata, Hazard and Oscor wouldn't have been able to play as close together as they would have more wide defensive duties.
Dembele and Defoe (or Ade) would have been much better at chasing down their CBs and Mikel if they tried to play it out too
Hudd was good but Lennon and Defoe were our best players

i see that....first in...works the hardest..then last off the trainging pitch...if he's not there...he's in the gym..or the pool...
wld like to see the proposed race between walks...azza and bale...
also...azza...LONGEST in the shower.........
BECAUSE HES WORTH IT ..........
I watched the game last night and studied the Chelsea goals and the lack of urgency in our players to stop the attacks is very worrying
we really have to close players down more and work harder without the ball
Lennon was out best player I thought.
Friedal and Gallas our worst with Tommy not far behind.
anyone who thinks tommy was anywhere near our worst player has to have been watching a different game.
dempsey was clearly our worst
Dempsey and sig were shocking although sig improved in the second half
We need to be stronger than that at home and all 4 goals avoidable
overall we played quite well with several first choice picks absent.
dempsey and siggy need to up their game.
walker needs to be dropped for naughton
and lloris needs to start to play
Lennon was definately our best player against chelsea, he was the only one who looked confident on the ball and in his ability to run at players, rarely gave up possession and closed down well when he had to. Dempsey was dire and siggy still hasn't convinced me. Oh and Lloris should have been in goal
only spurs could buy lloris and then convince ourselves that friedel is ahead of him in the pecking order
It's madness chronic, only 2 or 3 keepers in the world would get in ahead of him, Casilias, Neuer and Buffon in no particular order, even then i think it is a close shout, but no no lets keep faith in Friedel... LOL
its more than those 3, but he is certainly in the top 10 keepers in the world.
and he is plonked on our bench
we must think we are facking real madrid or something
