He might believe he can make the difference though? Regardless of what many believe Liverpool are still one of the greatest clubs in world football and are a much bigger club than his current employers...

Agree he'd be a fantastic signing for Liverpool. Seriously though, why would he be interested? He's already playing for a CL team, and wouldn't be short of other CL team offers. Pool can't offer him that any time soon
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because he has told the Dutch press several times his dream is to play in the Premier League before he retires.
And let's face it, there are worse option than Liverpool!

Why do people assume good players only want CL football??

I am just shocked at his goal scoring record it is actually phenomenal and there is a fair few from him coming off the bench... Honestly we need an experienced striker great having a young team but it's an area we need experience and this man is possibly the best option out there at the moment for me...

Maybe because 99% of the time it's true?!

.......

Is it though? how many players have left the SPL at a CL club to play for non CL clubs?

You keep posting this everyt day
The earlier you stop this Huntelaar obsession the better for you. FSG are never going to pay £10m+ on 29 yr old players who's unproven in the premier league who also failed in top leagues he played in - Spanish and Italian league. .

Not a wise investment and very short term

I have posted it once.. but this time I am comparing his stats to his dutch superstar colleague this time. And he was unlucky in Spain and Italy and is in much better scoring form in a German league that is arguably better than the Italian league and up there with the best...

===================================
His goal scoring at top leagues are awful. Scored 8 at Madrid and 7 at Milan.

How can you compare when he's played well only in sh..t league while RVP has had injuries all his life and has been playing in the most difficult league in the world.

Suarez has once scored 40 in a season but look at his goal scoring in the premier league..

If he wants to play in pl then we are a good option for him. Ok we can't offer cl but he's experienced that several times and if it's the pl that he's attracted to then he will have to accept he's unlikely to get a move to a pl in cl, city united and Chelsea won't buy him, maybe arsenal with their striker situation but again teas unlikely.

At this stage of his career he can command one more decent contract on a good wage. We could offer him 3 years on a high wage as we should save on the transfer fee.

Outside the cl clubs in pl we are arguably the best option along with spurs as we can offer higher wages then everton, Newcastle etc, also crucially we can almost guarantee 1st team football with our current situation.

So think we have a good chance of getting him if he wants a move to the pl, he's scored goals everywhere he's been by the stats above but I'll confess I've not seen him play loads just in European games and a few internationals but the way we are for strikers at the moment him signing can only help the club.

A lot of his appearances at both clubs were from the bench... Is the German league not a top league no? What about his international goal scoring record? 13 starts at Madrid and he had injuries.. His dip in form and perhaps confidence from the Madrid experience most likely affected his time at Milan where he was rarely given a chance and Borriello & then Inzagie were picked over him even after coming off the bench and scoring on a few occasions.

The German league is better than the Italian and his goal scoring record their is excellent..

Ok compare both players at international level then......

I wanted to buy huntelaar when van nistelrooy left and solskjjaer. Never happened. Now though we have 4 strikers and a youngster henriquez so we don't need another striker. We are happy with rvp.

European Record

R.V.P

Apps 66

Goals 22

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Apps - 59

Goals - 40

So if you want to play down his domestic goal scoring record then thats fine..

He has a better goal scoring record at international level and in European competitions..

Domestically
European
International

All three his record is better.. Now I am doing this article tongue in cheek slightly but in reality the man scores goals and tons of them and if you look at his overall record then surely there is no better player out there for us at the current moment...

It's all well and good having a policy of buying young talent but you can't have a squad full of kids, that bit of experience is essential and with his stats and at the right price I can see fsg going for him, they learnt last season that they don't know enough and now should should listen to people who know the game, anyone involved in football will say experience is a vital part of a squad.

We may not sign huntellar but we shouldn't rule out signing certain players due to age.

I agree and I am comparing him to R.V.P just to show how good the guy is and he is on FIRE at the moment.. We need experience up front there is no doubt about it. Just imagine what the younger players could learn in terms of positioning and lethal goal scoring. Surely that is important as well. Now we were considering Dempsey but did not want to pay the 8 million fair enough but really Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is a much much better player than Dempsey so really is he worth a punt at 5-10 million? I personally think he most defiantly is...

Last season he scored 48 goals in all competitions!!! That is incredible!!!!

posted on 25/10/12

Honest

At Real Madrid he only started 13 games and featured in only 20 in his time at the club.
That is still a very good record.

He's a goalscorer but his all round play isn't that great, that's why the bigger teams(Real & A.C) preffererd different players.
