You cant give the armband to a player who has only been here 5 minutes.

Yeah you can
Does he speak good English? I expect he does.
"The only downside as far as I can see is AVBs refusal to play Lloris"
And not the headless 2nd half performances where points have or have nearly been dropped ??

If he continues to 'park the bus' in the hope the other team do not score from the 40ish minute onslaught, we will get caught out, and drop points like we have in the early stages.
Okay, it paid off in the United & Southampton games but its a bit like playing with fire. And neither is it good to watch.

There is no ball-holding MF in the squad if one of Dembele or Hudd have to come off. Livermore is not the answer.
Last season there was often a killer blow in the last 5 mins, but with Defoe being Defoe and Adebayor out, that was never on the cards.
Guys. just enjoy the fact that we are in the top 4 without playing well, we could of played well and dropped points
New manager new defence and we wnat him to get everything right after 12 or so games
The question is whether AVB is trying to wing it to the next transfer window, hope Spurs don't have serious MF injuries etc.
Ickle Carroll may have to be considered if Hudd cannot get back to form and Dembele is going to have this problem intermittently.
Weare,
I'm not sure the amount of games played is relevant in this debate. I'm not sure i would be happy any manager playing this tactic at any point in the season.
Its just not very good on the eye & it is relying heavily on luck rather than good judgement or play.
you cant just blame the manager, again it was the players on the pitch who lowered their tempo and didnt give 100% in the second half
hugely frustrating but while they are doing that its great to still be picking up points

another win for spurs
Weare,
Do you think the players suddenly decide to go eleven men behind the ball?
Was it Defoe's choice to come off with 14 mins left to play (inc injury time) leaving us with no strikers on the pitch?
So yes i do blame the manager. Its either his tactics or his lack of minerals to be able to get his message across. Either/or, its not a good sign.
Picking up points is great, but for every game it pays off, there are many games where it wont. Its like playing results roullette.
avb needs to stop trying to close out games by making incredibly defensive subs. he must understand that we could have a ten foot brick wall infront the goal, and still would be unable to close things out.
we need to score again and not take our foot off the pedal. he also needs to start playing lloris... we failed to keep a clean sheet yet again.
Chronic,
I couldnt believe it when Defoe went off in the 79th minute - that really does go to prove what lengths AVB will go to to put all men behind the ball.
chicken. in avb's defence, defoe was doing nothing, and he didnt have a striker on the bench thanks to good old ade who we cant rely on
agreed...firstly it sends out the wrong message...
makes the oppo think...hello...they don't fancy this...and gives them a lift...
secondly...have we the personel.....now i didn't see the game...but it seems jake was piff....
if it were 60's...or dembele...back from injury...gr8...
also your lone front man off....another front man on...great if it was ade....but.....
defoe was shocking and i wanted him off the pitch to be honest but thats the clubs fault for not buying strikers
surely we could of even kept Kane as a make shift ?
kane injured now aint he....!?
In January if we cannot get Moutinho we need to sign Remy, Damiao and Dzagoev or M'Vila
numbers.
thats wierd. you named moutinho as number 1 target, and if we cant get him you then named 4 players as his replacement target who are absolutely nothing at all like him !!!
a striker has to be number 1 target, with a creative midfielder close behind. and a back up winger too, unless townsend is going to step up.
