Lads - I think Moutinho is out of our reach that is why I named Dzagoev or M'Vila as possible alternatives whilst Damiao will cover our striker problem whilst Remy can cover the winger or striker role - simples !!

but moutinho is a ball playing midfielder, modric style-ish.

mvila is a slightly more cultured sandro.

i would understand if you said moutinho, and if we cant get him then go for cabaye or something.

i dunno how newcastle got away without being raided in the summer....

expect the vultures to be circling come jan...surely....

Chronic - I agree with you but we need a Moutinho or Cabaye type player as we are too reliant on Dembele and this has been proven of late when he has been injured.

If we sign Loic Remy he will give us the option to play Bale in the Dembele role as he does wander infield from his wing position.

We need to take the game to people with tempo and pace as we sat back against Man Utd in the second half when we got away with it & it cost us badly against Cheatski.

A striker is a must as we need the killer goal as we allow too many teams to come back into the game trying to protect a lead.

I get depressed when we take off a striker to bring on somebody like Jake Livermore.

I think Lloris has to start instead of Friedel.

what centre mid?

bale needs to just play left wing and nowhere else imo.

that is where he does his damage.. as shown yet again on saturday.

when the play is broken up i dont mind him drifting, but i actualy dont think he has many of the skills needed to play centre mid effectively.

he was born to be a winger

redknapp harping on about him being a left back is a load of nonsense too imo.

Chronic - Look at the goal that Bale scored against the Scots for Wales he got the ball in the inside left position drove forward and smashed the ball into the net.

Our players need to be adaptable in their movement and passing to break teams down.

yeah that was when play was broken up.

see what i said earlier.

however i dont think you should set up with bale in cm.. as for one thing, he isnt good enough defensively to do what dembele does.

Chronic - Henry started off as a winger then he became a prolific striker a bit like Loic Remy could offer us and Bale may be good enough to play Left Wing, Left Back, Centre Midfield or even Striker.

He should be good enough defensively at CM as he started off at left back ?

He is currently one of our top scorers at WHL.

yes he is one of our top scorers.. and most dangerous players.. so why would you want to move him to a position where he is less advanced? dembele plays next to sandro as a pure cm!

Chronic - Let me pose a question if Bale eventually goes to Real Madrid where do you think they will play him ?

"left back", but he will play like marcelo and just be a winger.

plus marcelo is class, so cant see them going after bale any time soon.

Bale appears to be a Home boy so he may even stay at WHL like Gerrard at Liverpool especially when we build the new stadium and we progress as a team.

I think the difference between Gerrard & Bale is that Gerrard is a scouser through & through, has played at Liverpool since day dot, and a Liverpool side who have been challenging for honours since he broke into the first team. Bale is a Welshman, brought through Southampton's ranks & plays for Spurs.

Chicken - I live in South Wales and the Spurs Scout who monitored Bale as a School Boy was a personal friend until he passed away about 18 months ago.

The thought on Bale back then was that he was not going to strong enough as we were keen to sign him so he went to Southampton.

Essentially the point I am making is that Bale was always on our radar that is why we moved quickly to get him from Southampton at a bargain £5M.

Regardless of that, i doubt Tottenham holds a big place in Bale's heart, neither have Spurs competed at the top for the duration of his career.

Gerrard has Liverpool blood, Bale's loyalty to us is purely because he's on our payrole.
