Hypocrisy
---------------------------------

No, Hypocrisy would be if I had criticised you for feeling warm when one of your players had cheated the opposition out of points, then admitted to having that warm glow myself. Go take a look at a dictionary. That is twice I have had to explain what hypocrisy is today.

Just because Torres was caught by Evans doesn't make it a foul, the point is that he could have stayed on his feet but chose not to in order to gain an advantage, the advantage being a free kick and a booking for his opponent.

The media (sky in particular) have introduced this belief that contact gives a player the right to 'go down' well it doesn't, if a player can stay on their feet but chose not to then they've dived.

Welbeck and Young are horrendous divers. United fans always conveniently forget their own players when berating others.

---------------
Utter garbage and your bias is starting to show

Young was chastised by United fans last season and Sir Alex bollocked him for over simulation

Even United's own fanzine critisised Young for it. I have stated in this thread earlier who the divers are and there's a fair few United players in there, including Young and Welbeck

I have never heard that there's a law saying a player MUST stay on his feet if he's fouled.

Keep stretching the limits of reason though, it's funny.

========

A couple of posts above you a Utd fan lists divers and lists Utd players on there.

We berated Young and Welbeck for diving too. Let's not let the facts get in the way of bitterness.

That would be because Young didn't dive on Sunday.

TCP

Take a watch at the video again. Watch it several times. Are you honestly telling me that there was no contact between Ivanovic's left foot and the heel of Young left foot? It wasn't intentional granted, but there was certainly contact and the red card was the right decision under the current rules.

time wasting here

Some fans just can't bring themselves to critisise their own players when it's never been a problem for me if cheating has gone on.

Much easier to chuck mud at the ref (and each other) while our millionaire 'precious' footballers sit in their mansions thinking they have done absoltely nothing wrong to us minians

Ashley Young was caught by Ivanovic and he went down. Iva was sent off. Evans caught Torres and Torres was sent off.

Does that seem fair?

But I haven't said that Torres deserved a yellow card for when he went down. In fact, I have said quite the opposite and that he was very unlucky. You guys really do struggle with this whole hypocrisy thing don't you?

You might have to explain your "intent" comment a bit TCP, if a player comes flying in two footed or, oh i don't know, chest high with his studs showing then the other player has every right to get out of the way, but that isn't what happened on sunday, Torres just threw himself to the ground.

And I have just had another watch of the RVP 'elbow' and there was no way it was an elbow. I don't think that there was any contact with Luiz's face, but if there was, it was the back of RVP's shoulder that made contact, not his elbow or even his arm.

The concept of hypocrisy is not a tough one, but well done for attempting to patronise me, us.

I am merely complaining at ref double standards, which in truth cost us the game. A huge game. A game I had been looking forward to an for an hour lived up to anticipation. The ref destroyed that great game along with any realistic chance Chelsea had to win it.

Overall the damage isn't that bad; we're still top, a point ahead of the Manchester clubs. Playing superb football, Mata is in fantastic form. I am happy.

Doesn't have to be contact

Twisting facts to suit your argument. he was not sent off for diving. he was booked like Valencia was. He should have been red carded for the Clevs challenge.

Not think Mikel should have been booked instead of Valencia then? wasn't Mikel already on a yellow?

All your seeing is the decsisions that went against Chelsea and ignoring the ones that went for ya

What about the handball?

You think that RVP's elbow made contact with Luiz's face? Behave. I have even gone back this morning to take another look and there is no chance. If there was any contact, and I cant be certain from the angle of the replay, then it was the back of RVP's shoulder that made the contact. But I am not at all convinced that there was contact other than Luiz's chest into RVP's back. No hypocrisy there.
