By us singing it and wearing it as a badge of honour it has taken the sting out of other fans using it as a derogatory term.

However if Jewish organisations, and ones in the Tottenham area in particular, come out and ask us to stop then I think we should consider it.

We shouldn't take any notice of this mob though - being offended on someone else's behalf is wrong. If you can't switch back a derogatory term and use it for yourself then we'd also need to stop gay people using quee r and black people using the N word

All of our lives, we have fought this war. Tonight I believe we can end it. Tonight is not an accident. There are no accidents. We have not come here by chance. I do not believe in chance. When I see three objectives, three captains, three ships. I do not see coincidence, I see providence. I see purpose. I believe it our fate to be here. It is our destiny. I believe this night holds for each and every one of us, the very meaning of our lives.

Just for information:
The film, entitled The Y-Word, has been written and produced by David and Ivor Baddiel
“The film is not intended to censor football fans,” said David. “It’s simply to raise awareness that the y-word is – and has been for many, many years – a race hate word. It’s our belief that some football fans may not even realise this.
