Well reports are that Liverpool's scouting team are looking at a man by the name of Wilfried Bony.
- 23 years of age
- 6 foot tall
- plays for Vitesse in the Dutch League
- currently Dutch top scorer with 12 goals in 12 games
- priced around £5m - £10m
He is a very bulky and phyisical striker who is a focal point for his side, but unlike Carroll he has good feet.

I don't really think its an issue of being realistic. It boils down to how serious FSG are on getting us back into the CL. If the money is there the players will come.
No more excuses for FSG.
I thought Huntelaar was about to sign a new contract at Ajax?
The hunter plays for Shalke
ARE. Of course he does ! I'd even been reading articles stating he plays for Schalke and still put Ajax! Caffeine obviously hasn't kicked in yet....
At least I can spell Schalke
Between us this morning we have made a right feckin lash up, we could be pundits for Sky on this form!

Whereas Kash needs some caffeine to counter falling out of bed the wrong side....
Oh heah Joel Pohjanphalo will be on his way in January, what about Charlie Austin? I have a feeling that is the type of player we might be in for, Wilfried Bony would be a good addition too.
Aggers, FSG are as much desperate as we all are to see the club advance. Neither Walcott (cost too much) nor Huntleaar (too old, he's 29, same as that live wildfire, Dempsey??) will or should, in my view, be coming to us. Young, unknown up and coming players, identified by our new scouting team - hopefully - will be coming in. The wasted, yes, wasted £35M spent on AC burn a hole in the heart of FSG. Lots of names being bandied about, even the traitor who went to Chelsea and has been a blinding success, not, has been mentioned. Lets wait and see. JimmyTheRed
Jimmy. It's all well and good buying young, up and coming players, but unless you're blind or have been in a coma, you should realise we need some experience up front. A proven goalscorer, who can hit the ground running, not a youngster who needs easing into the team and given time to settle. That's what we have with Borini. Whoever we buy, there are of course no guarentees of success, but with someone who's been there and done it, and 29 is hardly over the hill, the chances of success are far greater.

Any truth in rumours linking you to this Will Hughes kid from Derby? And any of you seen him play enough to judge whether he'd cut the mustard at L'pool?
I can see Walcott coming. Money talks and if we gave him £100k a week and a central striking role then he may well come. Arsenal also always sell towards the end of a contract.
If we sign more youth I'm spitting my dummy out. We haev 12 points. We've won 2 games.
Robbing, wouldn't you readily exchange a mediocre midtable season (in terms of results, not football) for developing a side that would be able to challenge at the top for a number of years - or is it simply that you don't think Rodgers knows what he's doing and isn't up to the job?
Challenge at the top for a number of years? What on Earth has made you think that we will do that? Can you think of a precedent where this has happened?
A manager is only as good as his playing staff. 12 points. Won 2 games.

It is strictly true though. You can only get them to become as good as they can be.

But players aren't generally as good without experience as they are with it.
