Owners liable to cover wages of players they sign.
- Oh no!! How will Chelsea and City cope!?
I find 1 and 3 slightly confusing.
If 3 happens then surely 1 has failed?

No decision will be made today, it's just further discussions for anyone interested
I hope we can put an end to paying 80% of people's wages when they are on loan or after they are sold.
We've wasted millions on paying Aquilani and Cole's wages recently.
Alberto should have been in our team but thats another article.

Mr Chelsea - Thank god
I will not stand for the Premier League's chairmen ganging up on Bucky boy for having such a wonderfully onomatopoeic American name
Wages are getting a bit out of hand and I know there won't be a wage cap, but it's good to see there's some ideas being worked on to keep it, shall we say.. a bit sane.
A europe wide wage cap is the way forward.
Earl, then dont you need to have the same tax rates in each and every country?
Agreed Earl, but as Mr C said there's different tax rates in countries. Spain is raising theirs aren't they?
This does confuse matters somewhat.
Would only be doable if the EU were to have centralised power over Europe.
European Super State will save football.
just make post tax wage limits...
It's all irrelevant anyhow. Chelsea and City have already bought players which have put them on another level and Chelsea have got to the stage where they are level and City will soon get there, so it basically only stops others doing what City and Chelsea have done. That's of course if it does come in and that the loopholes are closed.
I agree with you on Chelsea, but City are still not a self sustainable club yet and they did make a loss of nearly 200m in their last financial accounts. Of course that figure could be going down, but they will still post a loss.
Not sure the reason for this is to stop a Chelsea, City or a PSG happening again, hopefully it is to stop what has happened at Rangers, Portsmouth, Plymouth and others happening again.
It's all too little too late, players and their agents(who btw Fifa and Uefa insist players have to have) now have too much power.
Owners of clubs lose millions and average players earn millions and no-one has done anything to address the matter
Wage an transfer cap would be the most beneficial move they could make.

It only increases the chances in my opinion. This means that clubs can never outspend the likes of Man United, Arsenal, Liverpool etc because they receive a far higher income. So you're limited already compared to them, then you're limited further in that you're not a lot to compete with them to try get to their level and thus increase income.
It sounds to me like seeding for the World Cup or something. The best teams get seeded and thus get the easy games and the worse teams get seeded and thus get the hard games. The highest stay the highest and the lowest stay the lowest.
Toor that's why united fans are so up for ffp, it benefits them the most.
Toor, that is how I have seen the so called FFP all along.
No one wants to see things happen as they have to the likes of Glasgow or Pompey, however why sholdn't some like Lincon City or Wigan not benefit if they got the opportunity of outside investment?

Exactly. They're the one's with the massive stadium and the global fan base. They're the one's gonna benefit most. However, why now? Why bring it in now when it's United gonna benefit the most? Why not twenty years ago when it could be argued it was Liverpool. Or five years from now when for talks sake it could be City? Why now? Is that fair?
Say for example Everton finish fifth this season. They then have the chance to push on and compete with United, Chelsea, City and Arsenal, however they are all competing for the top players, Chelsea and City have raked in money from player sales, United and Arsenal have raked in money through match day revenue and glabal merchandise and thus Everton can't get anywhere near competing for players as they aren't allowed to spend a bit more than the others to compete.
United fans don't care a jot what's fair to other teams to pretend they do an start pontificating about it is shallow hollow and completely transparently rediculous.
Who benefits most from ffp in all the teams in the world???
An who's fans are all of a sudden saints and looking out for the good of football as we know it?
They kid themselves but not the rest of us.
