15Mil Sturridge??

Sturridge is the kind of player we need. However, we could get a really good player on the continent for £15m. Much better than Sturridge, who is decent but not great.

I would worry that despite Torres poor form Sturridge is still second choice, but he would strengthen the team in attack.

I would rather see Walcott though.

He is definitely not the answer to our attacking problems IMO. From what I've seen, he's no more clinical ie just as wasteful, than what we already have. Add to the perceived issues with attitude, I don't think he'd be good for us....

He has genuine pace and would add an option across all front three positions.

I think he does have something in terms of how direct he is and that he can play anywhere across the 3 but I also have concerns about another 'potential' buy...

I also agree that 15mil (cos he is English) is high...

I think the reason Torres is first choice is because Torres is a striker, who can hold the ball and play others in, whereas Sturridge is more of a winger/wide forward, who can't but prefers to dribble, like Suarez.

I'm a bit tired of this 'adding an option' transfer policy. We need to be getting in players specifically for specific positions. If we need a striker, get a striker, not someone who can also play in goal...

I would like to see us sign a player with a proven track record for scoring goals, Huntelaar would be my first choice, he is also a former team mate of Suarez.

I agree to some extent. I wish for a striker, a top striker who can hold the ball and be patient in attack, whilst others can join. I think our play shows how much we need that. However from what Brendan has said, it seems he wants to keep Suarez there, so for him the perfect solution and financially safe opinion would to bring in a Sturridge or Walcott type - a player who can play across the front three, wide, until Suarez is injured, banned or suspended, who can play in the centre.

I agree with the idea of a proven goal scorer however I also think there area lots of factors involved. I know not all players base all decisons based on champs lge but it seriously weakens our position in the transfer market IMO. If we could put a decent run together between now and Jan and move up the table with half an eye on 4th...i think this could help us to purchase a 'finished article' player.

Sturridge? Nay, nay and three times nay. That young man has, in my humble opinion, a character defect. Full marks for being greedy, keeping the ball, trying to score when laying it off would have been better, all no problem - the mark of a young striker seeking to make his mark. However, there's something about him that just doesn't fit. Attitude? Well, cut some slack, he is still a young man. But there's something there that doesn't or wouldn't fit into the BR version of play. I also hear we are looking to buy back Tom Ince. Now then, who was the idiot who sold him in the first place, and where does he work now, now that LFC have sacked him. If Comolli can get the boot for spending as he did, then the miscreant who sold youn Tom can get the same.

He did.

He scored 8 in 13 at Bolton, he just needs a run of games!

Sturridge?

I would rather pile £15m of our money into a Die Hard With A Vengeance style dumper truck and have it driven off a cliff.

By Joe Cole.

well its clear he splits opinion...

Yer, he looked alright in the group games of a world cup. Sturridge scored 8 goals over 13 games in the premier league and he's only ever been used sparingly at Chelsea.

I would rather we signed a couple of players beforehand but he'd be an option that we don't have now and I do think he's something we don't have right now. He's always looking to get a shot off and has the selfishness that strikers need, he probably would jump at the chance to come to us!

Very greedy player. I could see Suarez going mental at him for never passing the ball.

And just because the papers say its £15m don't make it so.

KLS- It all could be paper BS but the question is IF true at that price.

Totally agree.

Rather have Walcott myself and dare I say it Mr Torres.

--- Wisdom ------ Skrtle ----- Agger -
Johnson -- Gerrard -- Allen -- Enrique -
---- Walcott ---- Torres --- Suarez ---

15m is all that's been quoted at the moment, and at that price it's got to be a no go. I'd put his value at half that, after all he's not actually proved himself, and he has been round for quite a while...

Sterling - Suarez - Sturridge

Like it or not but that is a pretty exciting forward line
