Yeah three players who like to dribble and none who hold the ball for others to join. Exciting with a lot of dribbling but one which I don't think would work.
I'd much prefer:-
-------------------Suarez---------------------------Sterling----------
-----------------------------------Huntelaar---------------------------
Plus a player like Walcott or Sturridge who can fill in all positions.
TOOR there is no chance Suarez will play as a wide forward. He does not have the dicipline to play that role and he likes to roam as a striker. Limit him to one area of the pitch and we ruin our best player.
But you wouldn't be limiting him to one position. The whole point of having a front three like that is to use constant movement to pull defenders all over the place. I thought you'd of realised by now that there's nothing rigid about BRs style of play.
He doesn't have the discipline to play wide forward, the position he has played all his life? The position where he scored hundreds of goals from?
You need more discipline to play as a striker than wide forward and that's why our team play suffers. He roams wide, knowing that's where his best play comes from and tries to come in from there. This means our attacks break down as there is nobody to hold the ball in the final third whilst others join the attack.
I think this is why Brendan has changed the system in the last few games. It isn't working, we don't have a player in attack who can hold the ball. So Sterling has been put up with him, meaning the is a player closer to him, who can get past him easier, with pace.
Ultimately I hope Suarez is moved wide, or we do more of a 4-2-3-1 and put Suarez in behind the main striker.
TOOR/Terminator - Going by how Sterling, Suso, Borini, Downing and Assaidi who have all played wide forward they have tended to stay wide and then also cover the full back by making it a 4-5-1 and I just can't see Suarez play that role.
As for this notion of a striker that can hold the ball, i'm not sure what you mean cos Suarez can hold the ball to feet easily. Under BR we are not meant to play high balls to the forward. Even if Suarez plays as a striker he should roam wide and it's not his fault no one gets in the box.
If you want to see an entertaining goal celebration every five weeks then he's your man.
We already have one Selfish striker in Suarez, Sturridge is even more selfish, lacks on field intelligence and is far fromt he team player Brendan keeps going on about.
Would be horrified if we signed him.
He's not that bad. How much have you seen of him? Be honest.

Why? He's done it all his life. He's always played there. Maybe you haven't watched him enough?
"As for this notion of a striker that can hold the ball, i'm not sure what you mean cos Suarez can hold the ball to feet easily."
I think when I say 'can' I'm being nice to Suarez. Maybe 'want' is the better word. The problem is, he never does, he dribbles every single time, against all odds. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. If he did that from wide, it would be fine, there'd be less defenders and there'd be players ahead of him to pass to.
I agree Suarez playing as a striker should roam wide but not in the lone striker role, in this system. There needs to be a focal point, so others can join. It's all about patience, not hit and rush. Get it to Suarez, rush! This system requires patience and thus you need somebody to hold the ball whilst others join.
It's pretty obviously Suarez will be the false number 9 central striker.
Personally I'd sign Huntelaar to give Suarez some respite and Walcott given the choice.
Don't want Sturridge. Don't like his attitude.

He would improve our team, at least on paper but for £15m?
Hey, we gotta make that 50m back somehow
I'd take Torres and Sturridge for £20 if you're interested, Mr C?
He's not that bad. How much have you seen of him? Be honest.
--------------------------------
Nobody's seen that much of him because he's hardly had a chance at Chelsea. Even though Torres has been absolute kack, he's been the main striker.
So where are these greedy, selfish, arrogant, stuck up, not a team player myths coming from if most of you havent seen much of him?
If you're looking for a wide forward who can score goals. He's your man
And I also think Brendan can help him mature if he feels he does have some issues that need to be ironed out. He seems the type of manager who will work on a player behind the scenes a lot and develop them properly
Dont know the price of Sturridge. Not exactly sure how long he's got on his contract with us. We're not gna use him so you might aswell.
To be fair Mr C, most of those opinions originate from Chelsea fans...
They're all from Torres fanboys
We've got a select group of young/youngish posters who are basically in love with Torres.

I don't know where all the "selfish, greedy" opinions come from but isn't that what makes a good goal scorer?
I would happily have Sturridge at Liverpool as he'd be an option that we don't have now and we need options, we've got a left back playing as left forward!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We would get him for around £8m aswell!
I would take him for about £8m actually but no more. Expensive English players and Liverpool never end well
Truth be told, I'd prefer to keep him. He's a goalscorer, and ive forgotten what its like to have one of them in our team since Torres turned up. however he's not getting minutes at Chelsea. God knows why. He's obviously peed off a few people at the club to still not be getting on the pitch after Torres's crappy performances.
Fred, so who are your other options for a striker this January? Huntelaar? Might aswell go for him if you're gna buy someone.
Huntelaar is the obvious choice. But trouble is, I'm sure teams already in the CL will also be in for him. Is he the sort to be part of a 'project'? I don't know....
