Every paper has reported that we have opened negotiations with Chelsea, so id say it's quite probable that we are going for him and i'd be happy with him!
Hmmm... that leaves us in a spot of bother then. A 50m spot of bother.
We'd need to sign 3 strikers.. Unless we sell Sturridge, keep Torres and sign Falcao? How can you go into a season with 2 "strikers" I'l never understand that.
Fred, so who are your other options for a striker this January? Huntelaar? Might aswell go for him if you're gna buy someone

Sturridge probably would be quite a good option as I'd like us to sign wide forwards rather than a centre forward as Suarez has made his false 9 role his own.
I was thinking players in the David Villa mould - wide forwards capable of coming inside. Villa would be the best signing we could possibly make.
Just never been a fan of Sturridge's attitude. Don't like players with big egos.
Fred I know what you mean. He does look like a cocky git. He probably is.. but when you have to endure Torres's anonymous performances game after game, you end up looking past Sturridge's flaws and end up being happy that someone is actually shooting at the opposition goal.
I love Sterling and Suarez
Sterling's flipping young though.17. Looking at his Premier League stats, he's played every minute of every game bar the WBA game at the start. Why doesnt Brendan ever take him off?
Sterling is awesome for us. At 17 i dont think you need to take him off.
Well when his hammy's explode you'll wish he had GB.
I do not think it is prudant that he plays so much football. I'd rather he was sharing the spot with Assiadi.
Fair point Mr C, as a Chelsea fan I'd probably prefer Sturridge up front over Torres these days.
Although I do think you should play Moses there.
Assiadi is an interesting one. When I have seen him i have liked him but doesnt seem to convince BR he is worth coming off the bench in the prem???
seems odd to me?
if sturridge gets his attitude right and learns to pass the ball sometimes then he could be a top class player. these are things that can be changed if rodgers' manages him right and sturridge listens to him. he has the raw talent, just needs him game rounding off so i think he'd be a decent signing. personally though i think £15million is a bit much for a player who is not wanted by chelsea and still has a lot to improve upon is a bit excessive.

So where are these greedy, selfish, arrogant, stuck up, not a team player myths coming from if most of you havent seen much of him?
If you're looking for a wide forward who can score goals. He's your man

Stop trying to push Sturridge for £15m

I think apart from the Wigan game, he's never had the chance to take him off as we needed goals.

Everyone has a habit of paying over the odds for British players.

You do realise that we have no authority to make this happen dont you??
Torres dropped for tonights game

I'll play.... cant be any worse
Joe Cole for Torres, you know it makes sense.
Sign him up....he flit from City for the cash....
He is not motivated by the project, just the ££££'s
I like Sturridge.
I think he is greedy and cocky, but so what.
I like my forwards to be greedy and cocky. He scores goals and makes things happen.
He can improve a lot, but he needs games to do that and he hasn't played much football considering he has been around for a while.
I think Rodgers would get the best out of him in a wide forward role taking the space that Suarez vacates with his movement.
I think he would score a lot of goals for Liverpool.
He would frustrate as well at times, but there are few players around that don't.
