Who RVP? I think he was an important signing and 1 of the reasons we may get away with conceding so many as he will score so many.
***

I don't think that was part of the plan when Fergie bought him.

We didn't need RVP. Scoring goals was never our problem. We had a good CF in Rooney, with Chicha and Wellbeck and Beba who should have stayed, plus Macheda even. We have come behind with these forwards enough times to prove that.

fergie got RVP to get one over City and Wenger. (Even though he is a class act)

We don't need to sign a CM. We need to stop playing our oldies and let the young lads have a good crack at nailing down a spot.

I mean, Anderson could have a brilliant game tonight, then he'll be benched for the next 3 games. Something (IMO) is going on that we don't know here.

SAF has told us plenty of times how good Cleverley is, so why not let him have a run of games? Instead of letting Giggs play in the centre

----------

IF Cleverley was that good the manager would play him instead of games, by that logic I dont think the manager rates him much.

Anderson has had way too long to cement a place and in fairness to SAF he has played Anderson in the past and he has been awful. He needs to be moved on and quick.

CM has always been our problem, the current batch have very little ability. What happens then is that Carrick over rated as the other CM's are that bad.

We need atleast 2 top CM's in my opinion, for a club the size of United we shouldnt have to suffer with Championship level central midfielders.

He should have figured it out when he bought back Scholes from retirement. Why would he do that otherwise.

--------------
Scholes came back because Fletch Ando and Clevs all had long term injuries/illnesses

They are all now fit..... and on the bench

Having RVP allows Rooney that freedom so it kind of covers up our CM problems for another season or so.

After missing out on Hazard and Lucas it was imperative to get a top signing even if it was to appease the fans.

But top class centre forwards dont come often, I remember SAF was desperate for Villa a couple of seasons ago but he went to Barca, he does like his strikers.

except Rooney can't play in MF, he's not good enough

Square pegs round holes, this is why there is no harmony in the team and why we are conceding so many.

In fact i would play Kagawa first in the new Rooney role and not play Rooney

Based on his earlier performances Kagawa was settling into that role. Then SAF tinkers and plays him out of position and suprise suprise Kagawa struggles.

He needs to give Giggs and Scholes game time so they're sharp and ready to face City in a midfield trio with Carrick. Almost worked wonders last time. Could have snached a draw if Smalling didn't make that mistake

Aren't we unbeaten in all the games Cleverley and Anderson have started together?

If he plays Carrick, Scholes and Giggs for the derby, then I will seriously consider that its time for him to retire come end of the season.

The argument is that them 2 dont protect the defence but Carrick isnt doing that great a job of it, look how much were conceding.

I say we give them some games together.

We need Vidic back, he protects the midfield, not the other way round.

You defend from the front to the back. Our geriatric midfield can't defend after 60 minutes.

If we reached the CL final and had to play played Barca again this season, honestly what team do you think SAF would play?

Knowing our luck we'd get the team from the 99' final

You dont think 5 years plus is enough for a player to cement a first team place if he's good enough?

awful comment.

you seem to forget that he has had an injury hit career at utd, something which is hardly his fault.

one of the first to training and last to leave, so his attitude can't be questioned.

he has been our best midfielder this season when played and is finally showing what he can do when not injured.

to get rid now would be worse than playing giggs in the middle.

Hargreaves was always injured too albeit more than Anderson but he was moved on.

Anderson looks ok when he plays which is 1 game in 10 and the other games he looks average.

When you say he's been our best midfielder thats hardly a compliment, look at the state of our midfield its not hard.

I think he's had a fair crack of the whip he's been here long enough and when he plays he doesnt exactly light the world on fire.

Its not the club or fans fault he's always injured. If it was his second season then yes I would say I am being harsh, after 5 seasons, this whole Anderson is always injured soap story is getting boring.

To be honest welbeck and Rooney were making a brilliant partnership and now it seems welbeck has been shoved out of the equation or just to get him in he's stuck on the left where he's pap.
rvp was just a luxury signing we didn't need him at all but I do love having him here

I kind of agree with you and this is rare

Welbeck is better up top but needs to work on his finishing but is inferior to RVP in every way.

I think SAF is trying to play everyone which is causing problems.

Long term Welbeck is a good squad option, nothing more as is Hernandez.

Our top 2 should be RVP and Rooney.

We need to find a place for Kagawa too.
