Hippo.

How many people die from the cold in England?

Far more than all the shark, snake, spider, scorpion etc deaths in Oz!

Technically all aussies are English anyway

There must be a fair few that die from the heat though.

Is that right? We're still better than you. Looking forward to retaining the Ashes. Meh, nobody cares about rugby. We are better than you at real sports like football and darts as well.

If any of you still fancy going to Australia, the tourist book below will put a stop to that.

Or maybe not, you might want to go just to satisfy your curiosity that the locals really are that stupid.

The Last Continent by Terry Pratchett.

On that note I bid you all a good weekend, and to three more points.

Can't beat a bit of Tooheys new!

I'm a bitter man myself but I remember Tooheys from my younger days, it was ok.
I was mainly talking about XXXX and Fosters, tastless ale. Then again so is Carling.
I will be having a gallon of Oakhams Citra in a short while down the local.

The 2005 Ashes series was the best sporting event i've ever watched.

Didn't mind losing to England because it was so epic

I've not been to Oz personally but eve then it's easily not the best. The rampant racism (in particular towards the aboriginal population) is a serious black mark on the country.

Red Rob,

I beg to differ, given the number of Aussies i've met when travelling and knowing a little of Oz government policies.

Anyway, from what i know and where i've been:

Best City: Saint Petersburg
Best Country: (we really need some criteria here to judge this but...) I'll say Thailand.
Best Island: depends by what we mean by 'island', but i'll say Tioman Island (Malaysia) or if we mean country/island, probably the UK.

I havn't been to Oz for about ten years. Back then, for a nation of superhuman sportsmen your countrymen seemed to spend a awful lot of time in dingy back rooms playing the Pokies.
Gambling seemed to be the true national sport.

I never thought i'd EVER agree with Komakino but he is right, Iceland is divine: they have the best water in the world, their houses are marvellously built, in the summer the sun NEVER goes down - no kidding.

The first time i went in the summer, i had to shut the windows at 4am as the sun was still out scorching my window. Place is clean...

BUT, winters are miserable.

The UK is not too bad tbf.

I think the racism is on both sides, I did see a lot of abuse towards people in the streets from aboriginals. More so in the smaller towns.
