Bale was too clever to get opp. full backs booked in the past. It's payback time for the chimp.
Lion-el
We've admitted Suarez dives, just not as much as the attention from the press and others warrants. This is also the point Rodgers was making. He feels Suarez isn't being awarded free kicks/pens on the back of a reputation that's been, on the whole, made by the media.
Bale has been booked twice in two games for diving. You don't see the same level of hysteria. You also know that Bale will continue to be awarded free kicks and pens, despite his reputation.
The question is, if refs can base decisions on a players reputation in one case. Why can't they in another?

Bale should learn from Lineker.
He was an expert. When he got "caught" , straight down.
No arms out, no forward "yards gained" .
If messi always feared getting hurt he'd be nowhere near 300 goals for barca and would never have ran past 4 Real Madrid defenders in the champions league to score THAT goal
Bale is using the Adams "defence" too much methinks.
They're not all mindless morons trying to ruin you.
RDBD,
Exactly. I've been playing football since I was 4 or 5, I've picked up knocks in that time and my ankle hasn't been the same since I went right over it and played on for another 40-odd mins, when I step on the football pitch I don't think about "oooh I may get hurt", I think about winning, scoring goals and making goals and nothing else
Bale anticipates being clattered, the only way defenders can stop him is to scythe him down, he sees the bad challenge coming and makes an effort to avoid being injured.
When running at Bales speed the slightest contact is enough to bring him down or injure, referees dont give him enough protection.
Suarez on the other hand can somehow manage a reverse somersault from a standing start without any contact, along with his over reacting every time he is tackled fairly or unfairly and feigning of injury.
I know who the real diver is.
"he sees the bad challenge coming and makes an effort to avoid being injured."
He may see A challenge coming.
No way he can verify in real-time whether tis season ending.
This argument would hold water if Bale was Pele in the 1966 World Cup. But it ain't even close.
Ricky Ricky Ricky!
You're a right gem aren't you? When Bale goes down its on anticipation of defenders trying to break his legs. When Suarez goes down its because he's a diving cheat .
I guess Guzan was trying to clatter Bale from 5 yards away .
Bale took a couple of real dives earlier in the season, so he's paying for it now with his reputation going ahead of him.
This is exactly what has happened with Suarez. Suarez has only dived once this season, but because he received some bookings for diving last season (some of which should not have been given), this reputation is going before him.
I the instance of Bales 2 yellows this week...there was contact, he was flying at high speed but he made way too much of the fall. That is not a dive, its exaggeration, nd for that he should be told to minimise the theatricals but its not a yellow because he was caught twice.
If a defender sticks his foot in and doesn't get the ball then its a foul if contact is made.
ALSO, on the main point by the OP, Suarez gets the bad press because he is not liked. The same goes for people like Barton...not liked by fans and media for a range of reasons so any issue around him gets picked up on. Its not because he is foreign because like I said, Barton is another example, and so is the likes of Terry too.
People start to hate Bale if he keeps diving. Let's hope he reaches John Terry heights..
Suarez should start diving like Bale. He's already got the reputation, so what's to lose?
He's obviously cut out going down easily after realising referees have given him nothing all season based on reputation. At what cost though? He was pulled in the box in the last game and didn't go down but still got nothing. He cant win.
