Khieu Samphan (born 28 July 1931) is a former Cambodian communist politician who was the chairman of the state presidium of Democratic Kampuchea (Cambodia) from 1976 until 1979. As such, he served as Cambodia's head of state and was one of the most powerful officials in the Khmer Rouge movement, although Pol Pot remained the General Secretary (highest official) in the party. On 7 August 2014, along with other members of the regime, he was convicted and received a life sentence for crimes against humanity during the Cambodian genocide, and a further trial found him guilty of genocide in 2018. Along with Kang Kek Iew, he is one of the two last surviving senior members of the Khmer Rouge following the death of Nuon Chea in August 2019.

Neil Black, the former performance director of UK Athletics, has died aged 60, the organisation has confirmed.

He left his position in 2019 after coach Alberto Salazar was banned for four years for doping violations.

Black, who worked closely with Mo Farah throughout his career, became performance director in September 2012.

A statement released on Tuesday said Black died at the weekend and UK Athletics said it was "shocked and saddened" at the news.

Reports that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is seriously ill after heart surgery are not true, officials in South Korea have said.

Headlines that Kim Jong-un was "gravely ill", "brain-dead" or "recovering from an operation" were always going to be impossible to verify.

But the presidential office in Seoul has said there have been no particular signs from the North to indicate the 36-year-old is "gravely ill".

It is also not the first time rumours about his health have fired up intense flurries of speculation - only to be later dismissed.

Nintendo Switch owners are being encouraged to lock down their accounts after a wave of fraudulent attacks.

The hacks involve a user logging into a person's Nintendo account - and often using a linked PayPal account to make expensive purchases.

Several reports say the attacks have intensified in recent weeks, with staff at popular technology and gaming sites among those affected.

Nintendo recommends using two-factor authentication to protect accounts.

The attacks have been going on for months, but appear to have increased in the past few weeks.
