The ten foods in your shopping cart that are most likely to make you sick have been revealed.
Researchers at Consumer Reports ranked regularly purchased foods based on how many outbreaks, deaths and illnesses they had caused in the US between 2017 and 2022.
Their list included more than 200million units of recalls and 5,000 food poisoning cases. They found that leafy greens were the worst offenders, alongside cheeses and deli meats, ground beef and chicken and turkey.
But there were also some surprises — including onions and flour — with researchers saying outbreaks in these products were linked to contaminated irrigation water.
Brian Ronholm, the director of food policy at the New York-based group, said: 'We aren't saying people need to avoid these foods entirely. After all, these foods are all usually safe and many of them are in fact important parts of a healthy diet.

Thomas Anthony Parker (4 August 1988 – 30 March 2022) was an English singer, widely known as a member of the boy band the Wanted. In 2013, Parker appeared with his bandmates in the E! channel reality television series The Wanted Life. Alongside the Wanted, Parker released three studio albums and achieved two number one singles on the UK Singles Chart. After the band's hiatus in 2014, he embarked on a solo career.
In October 2020, at the age of 32, Parker was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. The Wanted reunited in September 2021, but after a sudden deterioration in his condition, Parker died of complications from glioblastoma on 30 March 2022, at the age of 33.
Michael Vaughan criticised the ECB's decision to charge him as 'inappropriate, inadequate and backwards' after he was cleared of using racist language towards Azeem Rafiq.
The former England captain has always denied using the words 'there's too many of you lot, we need to do something about that' towards Rafiq and three other Asian players before a Yorkshire game in 2009.
Following an eight-day hearing earlier this month the ECB's Cricket Discipline Commission released their findings this morning, which concluded that the case against Vaughan was unproven.
The verdict said that 'on the balance of probabilities' Vaughan did not use racist language 'at the time and in the specific circumstances alleged'.
The CDC found that five former Yorkshire players – Matthew Hoggard, Tim Bresnan, Andrew Gale, Richard Pyrah and John Blain – had used racist language during their time at Headingley, although some of the charges against them were dismissed.

Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have lost nearly £3m in a year since taking over Wrexham FC.
But the pair have pledged to carry on backing the club, despite the financial hit.
A statement on the club's website said the loss was despite turnover being up five times on the previous year, at almost £6m.
Most of that was made up of matchday income, kit and sponsorship.
Newly-released accounts for the 12 months to the end of last June showed a loss of £2.914m.
The file, sent to Companies House, showed the figure was down to a surge in player wages and football costs.

Manchester City maintained the pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal by shrugging off the absence of the injured Erling Haaland to outclass Liverpool with a magnificent display at Etihad Stadium.
City's 42-goal striker was ruled out with a groin injury, but Pep Guardiola's reigning champions demonstrated their all-round strength by coming from a goal down against a Liverpool side who have made life so difficult for them in the past, to run out convincing winners.
Liverpool caught City with a counter-attack after 17 minutes to take the lead, Diogo Jota making the break before Mohamed Salah applied a thumping finish.
City responded in devastating fashion with the outstanding Jack Grealish, who made a crucial intervention on Salah when Liverpool had the chance to double their lead, crossing for Julian Alvarez to equalise after 27 minutes.
Alvarez was the creator as City went ahead 53 seconds after the break, his raking pass finding Riyad Mahrez, who crossed for Kevin de Bruyne to slide home from close range.
John Stones delivered a masterclass in an unaccustomed role which saw him advance into midfield but also drop back into defence when required, and with City in total control Ilkay Gundogan added the third after a goalmouth skirmish.
Grealish deserved a goal and it duly arrived in the 74th minute when he timed his arrival perfectly to turn in De Bruyne's cross as Liverpool ended beaten and bedraggled.
Pep Guardiola has won his 100th Premier League game in charge of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in his 128th game.
He becomes the fastest manager to reach a century of victories at a single venue, overtaking Arsene Wenger (139 games at Highbury).
Preston kept their play-off hopes alive with a convincing derby win over relegation-threatened Blackpool at Deepdale.
Tangerines old boy Brad Potts put the hosts ahead in a lively opening, lashing a superb angled drive into the far corner from the right-hand side of the box.
Ben Whiteman then fooled Blackpool goalkeeper Chris Maxwell for the second, shaping to curl a free-kick into the box for waiting team-mates, only to whip it inside the near post.
Tom Cannon capped a quick counter-attack by placing a neat finish in off the post for Preston's third before Jerry Yates side-footed a late close-range consolation.

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards masterminded victory over his former side Watford as the promotion-chasing Hatters kept the pressure on the top two in a high-octane derby at a sell-out Kenilworth Road.
Gabriel Osho's low first-half strike looked like it would secure a fifth 1-0 win in a seven-game unbeaten run against a Watford side who failed to register an attempt on target in the first half.
And although the Hornets improved after the interval and went close through a Jeremy Ngakia header, a poor clearance allowed Allan Campbell to smash in an injury-time second for the hosts.
Luton's latest success sees them stay in fourth, just three points adrift of second-placed Sheffield United and level on points with third-placed Middlesbrough prior to Saturday's later kick-offs.
Watford's defeat in just the sixth league encounter between the sides in more than 25 years means their chances of creeping into the play-offs seem remote having won just once in a six-game run that has also brought three consecutive away defeats.

A man who suffered serious injuries during a charity boxing match has died in hospital.
Emergency services were called to the Ultra White Collar Boxing event at Harvey Hadden Sports Village in Nottingham on 25 March.
The boxer was taken to Queen's Medical Centre but his condition deteriorated and he later died, Nottinghamshire Police said.
The force added it was working with the coroner to establish what had happened.
A spokesperson for the Derby-based organisation said: "Everyone was deeply saddened to hear of the tragic death of one of our participants, who took part in our Nottingham event.
"Our thoughts are very much with his family and friends at this difficult time.
"We are in close contact with his family and continue to offer them all the support we can.
"With investigations now under way by the relevant authorities, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this stage."
Nottingham City Council, which runs the leisure centre, called it a "tragic incident" which occurred during a private event.
"Sadly one of the participants was seriously injured during one of the opening bouts," a spokesperson said.
"On-site paramedics attended to him before an ambulance took him to Queen's Medical Centre.
"We are deeply saddened to hear that he has since died in hospital and our thoughts are with his family and friends."
Pope Francis has joked that he is "still alive" as he left hospital in Rome after a three-day stay.
He was admitted to Gemelli Hospital mid-week with breathing difficulties, and later diagnosed with bronchitis.
The Vatican had said he was responding to antibiotics and would be released on Saturday, depending on test results.
"I wasn't frightened, I'm still alive," the 86-year-old pontiff told reporters and tearful well wishers outside the hospital before being driven away.
He was seen smiling and waving from the car, before getting out to speak to a crowd. He then headed for the Vatican.
The Pope's admission to hospital came ahead of the busiest week in the Christian calendar to mark Easter.
Holy Week, as it is known, includes a busy schedule of events and services that can be physically demanding.
Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said on Friday that the Pope was expected to take part in this weekend's service for Palm Sunday.
"I can confirm that, since he is scheduled to leave the hospital tomorrow [Saturday], Pope Francis is expected to be present in St Peter's Square on Sunday for the Eucharistic celebration of Palm Sunday, the Passion of the Lord," Bruni said in a statement.
He added the Pope would return to Santa Marta, the papal residence within the Vatican, once he had left hospital.
Swansea City made history once again in the south Wales derby as Ben Cabango's 99th-minute goal secured an extraordinary 3-2 win at Cardiff City.
Joel Piroe drove Swansea in ahead inside three minutes before Liam Cullen headed home their second.
Jaden Philogene pulled one back and Sory Kaba's late header looked to have sealed a draw.
But Cardiff-born Cabango swept in right at the end to leave the Bluebirds deep in relegation trouble.
Having claimed the first league double in 111 years of this fixture last season, Swansea have repeated the feat in this campaign - and in unforgettable fashion.
Cabango steered home from close range after Jay Fulton's drive had hit the post to spark wild celebrations among the away supporters, as Swansea became the first team to win four straight south Wales derbies in the league.
Swansea are sitting pretty in mid-table after Russell Martin maintained his perfect record in this fixture.
But another painful derby day leaves Cardiff hovering above the Championship's bottom three on goal difference alone with the end of the season in sight.
Stoke brought Coventry's nine-game unbeaten run to an abrupt end as they crushed the Sky Blues 4-0 to dent their hopes of reaching the play-offs.
Jacob Brown tapped the ball in at the back post to put Stoke a goal up only six minutes in, before Tyrese Campbell doubled their advantage just before the break.
Will Smallbone made it 3-0 midway through the second half, slotting the ball into the bottom corner before Ki-Jana Hoever capped an excellent afternoon for the Potters with a superb solo effort 13 minutes from time.
Stoke are now unbeaten in four games and move up a place to 13th, while Coventry fall four points behind the top six.
Burnley assistant manager and former Wales captain Craig Bellamy has said he is bankrupt.
Bellamy's cumulative transfer fees amounted to £45m during a playing career which saw spells at clubs including Liverpool, Manchester City and West Ham.
But the 43-year-old said his financial situation was due to failed investments made on his behalf.
"Everything I have had has been taken from me," Bellamy told the Daily Mail.
"If you get the wrong people advising you it all haemorrhages, it all dwindles.
"It has got to the point where bankruptcy is a relief. It means I can just live again.
"I know some people will probably think I have squandered all my money on drinking or gambling or drugs. I haven't.
"I can go quiet where you won't hear from me but I won't be down the pub. I have never touched drugs since I was a young kid. I don't gamble - I have never gambled.
"It doesn't make any sense to me. But I have gambled on people unfortunately."

Leicester City have sacked manager Brendan Rodgers following a fifth defeat in six Premier League matches.
The Foxes dropped into the relegation places with a 2-1 defeat by Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Rodgers was appointed in February 2019 and led the club to its first FA Cup triumph in 2021.
But in a statement, chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said performances and results this season have been "below our shared expectations".
"It had been our belief that continuity and stability would be key to correcting our course, particularly given our previous achievements under Brendan's management," he added.
"Regrettably, the desired improvement has not been forthcoming and, with 10 games of the season remaining, the board is compelled to take alternative action to protect our Premier League status.
"The task ahead of us in our final 10 games is clear. We now need to come together - fans, players and staff - and show the poise, quality and fight to secure our position as a Premier League club."
There have now been 12 managerial departures in the Premier League this season.
