During Titanic's sinking the five clerks onboard tried desperately to save the mail and, in the process, forfeited any chance they may have had to escape the doomed ship. None of Titanic's postal clerks survived the sinking. Only the bodies of Oscar Scott Woody and John Starr March were recovered from the wreck site.

Worst night of Captain Edward John Smith’s life. In more than 40 years at sea he had NEVER been involved in an accident. Suddenly he is about to preside over the worst sea disaster of all time! That is probably as close as it gets to being abducted by aliens, that same feeling you know?

Phillips sends a final distress signal. He reportedly makes it to the overturned collapsible lifeboat B but succumbs to exposure. His body will not be found.
Smith’s body was never recovered, and his final moments remain a mystery, with no shortage of conflicting accounts—including one in which he jumped off the ship holding a baby. As author Wyn Craig Wade wrote in The Titanic: End of a Dream, “Captain Smith had at least five different deaths, from heroic to ignominious.” Rumors of his survival also circulated.

Of all the awards a pizza could win, this is not the first that would come to our mind. It’s not the biggest, nor is it the longest or the heaviest. What other records are left? Well… probably an infinite amount, depending on how creative you are, but this one won the record for being the most varied.
More precisely, it claimed the Guinness World Record for the “Greatest variety of cheese on a pizza,” clocking in at 111 different types of cheese.
Now that might seem like a lot of different cheeses, but when you think about all the different cheeses produced in neighboring France (246 different kinds, according to President Charles de Gaulle back in the 1940s) that’s not really much at all. What is impressive is the presentation: those 111 different cheeses were somehow all arranged on a standard-sized Neapolitan pizza crust, measured at just under 12 inches in diameter.

Isidor Straus (February 6, 1845 – April 15, 1912) was a Bavarian-born American Jewish businessman, politician and co-owner of Macy's department store with his brother Nathan. He also served for just over a year as a member of the United States House of Representatives. He died with his wife, Ida, in the sinking of the passenger ship RMS Titanic.
During Titanic's sinking the five clerks onboard tried desperately to save the mail and, in the process, forfeited any chance they may have had to escape the doomed ship.
Titanic Remembrance Day is dedicated to the memory of the lives that were lost on that fateful day when the RMS Titanic was shipwrecked after hitting an iceberg in 1912. While the day hasn’t been specifically or officially declared by any entity, the tradition has been that these folks are remembered on April 15 of each year, which is the anniversary of the disaster.
In addition to remembering those who died at the tragic Hillsborough disaster, we also remember those who sadly lost their lives in the sinking of the Titanic.
