In June 2011, Campbell announced he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease six months earlier. After his diagnosis was revealed, he withdrew from a scheduled Australian concert tour with Kenny Rogers. He became a patient at an Alzheimer's long-term care and treatment facility in 2014. That same year, Campbell was the subject of the documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me, directed by longtime friend James Keach, that examined Campbell's Alzheimer's diagnosis and how it affected his musical performances during his final tour across the United States with his family. The documentary received critical acclaim, earning a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

A pelican has gone missing from a zoo after taking to the air when it was scared by a flock of gulls.

Blackpool Zoo said the 14-week-old fledgling flew on to the flamingo house on Friday afternoon after being startled by the squawking birds.

It said the pelican was then "taken on a gust of wind" and keepers lost sight of it at about 16:00 BST as it headed towards South Shore.

A representative said anyone who spots it should contact the zoo.

They said the brown-feathered bird was about 4ft (1.2m) tall with a 5ft (1.5m) wingspan and had been "seen in the area" since it flew off.

They said keepers were "following up all sightings" and searches were "continuing from dawn to dusk every day".

"We remain hopeful that it will be found," they said.

They said pelicans were "beautiful, docile creatures" and there was "no threat to the public", but anyone who spots it should not approach it.

They added that the zoo had "housed this magnificent species for many years" and had the only collection that had "successfully bred... which makes the youngster very special".

"This is the first time we have had an incident like this, which was down to the ever-growing problems we, and the town, continue to have with seagulls," they said.

In April, the zoo advertised for "seagull deterrents", a role which would see successful applicants dressed up in bird costumes to scare away the nuisance birds.

It later said almost 200 people had applied for the roles.

John Williams (born 1939 or 1940) is an English football chairman. Who was most recently Chairman of West Bromwich Albion F.C.

Williams previously served as chairman and chief executive of Blackburn Rovers F.C., having been appointed to the board in 1997 and then promoted to chairman/chief executive in 1998 by the club's then owner Jack Walker.

With Williams at the helm Rovers enjoyed notable success; winning promotion back to the Premier League in the 2000/01 season. Followed by 10 consecutive seasons in the Premier League (many of which resulted in top 10 finishes), qualification to the UEFA Cup 3 times in 5 years. There was relative success in the cup competitions also, with League Cup victory in 2001/02 and 2 FA Cup semi finals in 2004/05 and 2006/07.

Williams resigned his position as chairman in February 2011, after becoming dissatisfied with the club's new owners Venky's London Ltd., especially after they made the decision to sack manager Sam Allardyce in November 2010. Allardyce had only just concluded a successful season at Rovers, with the club having reached the semi-finals of the League Cup and had ended the 2009/10 season in the top 10 of the division. Shortly after Williams's departure, Blackburn Rovers were relegated to the Championship, in May 2012, where they remain. Following his resignation of his post at Blackburn Rovers, Williams became Chairman of Professional Game Match Officials Limited, and served in this position for 3 years before becoming Chairman of West Bromwich Albion F.C. in 2016.

Luton's first match back in the top flight for 31 years ended in heavy defeat as Joao Pedro and Simon Adingra marked their debuts with a goal each in a comfortable Brighton win.

Solly March headed in after 35 minutes before Pedro, signed for a club-record fee around £30m from Watford, scored a second-half penalty following a foul by Luton captain Tom Lockyer.

The Hatters pulled a goal back with nine minutes remaining when last season's top scorer Carlton Morris converted another penalty - awarded for handball against Lewis Dunk - but 21-year-old Ivorian Adingra sealed the Seagulls' win by slotting home after a bad mistake from Luton's Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu.

Eighteen-year-old Ireland international Evan Ferguson then tapped in Pervis Estupinan's cross in stoppage time to cap an impressive start to the campaign for the home side.

The Hatters had acquitted themselves well in their first Premier League outing - their last match in the top flight came in 1992 before Premier League rebrand - but Brighton were worthy winners.

Pedro, 21, should have opened the scoring after five minutes but scuffed a gilt-edged chance wide from eight yards.

The Seagulls, who left midfielder Moises Caicedo out of their squad amid interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, also hit the post three times.

Odsonne Edouard spoiled Sheffield United's return to the Premier League to give Crystal Palace a winning start to life after Wilfried Zaha.

This season is the first since 2013-14 where the Eagles will be without Zaha after their talismanic forward's departure in the summer.

But Edouard turned in Jordan Ayew's cross just after half-time.

And although debutant William Osula went close for United, Palace had chances to make the win more emphatic.

The goal came when Jordan Ayew ran at Ben Osborn on Palace's right wing before delivering a low cross for Edouard to tap in from close range.

The French striker, 25, should have claimed a second when he sent a tame header straight at Wes Foderingham, who also denied Ayew and Joachim Andersen late on.

But the Eagles had done enough to give Roy Hodgson, who celebrated his 76th birthday three days ago, a winning start to his 41st season as a manager - and his 1,242nd game as boss.

Manchester United midfielder Fred has completed a move to Turkish side Fenerbahce.

The Brazil international, who joined United from Shakhtar Donetsk for £47m in 2018, called his time at Old Trafford "a true dream".

"Today ends one of the most beautiful stages of my career," the 30-year-old said on social media.

It is understood United will receive 10m euros (£8.62m), with an additional 5m euros (£4.31m) in potential add-ons.

"I lived the dream of wearing the shirt of one of the biggest clubs in the world," added Fred.

"Going through ups and downs, I leave with the conviction that I always gave my best during all training sessions and games.

"It was five years of a true dream for me and my family. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity. Forever a Red!"

Fred was told that he is unlikely to play a significant role in United manager Erik ten Hag's squad this season.

Fenerbahce's Istanbul rivals Galatasaray and Premier League side Fulham were among other clubs to have expressed an interest in the player.

Fred's contract at Old Trafford had been scheduled to expire next summer.
