Our former way of playing didn't guarantee titles either, no style of football does otherwise everyone would deploy it. What made us so relentless was the winning mentality Mourinho installed in the players, the systems he put in place just happened to be the best fit at the time with the players we were acquiring, e.g. Drogba, Essien, Robben, Duff, Makelele, etc... lots of athletes and width, the latter of which we had to tweak since gaining Malouda and Kalou. But that system had less to do with the success than i presume you're thinking.
The Arsenal way of playing has it's benefits too, i rest my case by referencing Barcelona
Whether it's a wum or not, it read like a serious article so i've given you serious responses
I can't be bothered to read the article.
Can somebody please tell me what it's about?

I'm sure you are, that was a passionate post by myself due to the high regard I have of Chelseas old bully boy style.

TGI we should have our own board. We're too serious for these part time wumfurkers on our board
"strong and robust talented bullies"

Who could beat such a team? They sound absolutely invincible.
Basically TGI Frying pan hehe...
In a nutshell I'm saying that I admired Chelsea's old style of player with the players they had at thier disposal. It was effective and worked throughout the years. Trying to copy Barcelona is a disaster I saw from a long way off. Pointless plan which will never work.

Don't take that point too seriously if you feel offended. As I said I admired the effectiveness of Chelsea and it was so good to see a strong premier league team that could bully the likes of Stoke yet hold thier own against Barcelona. Massive credit for that

But as a fan wouldn't you want to see your team win all the titles by any means necessary? Even if it means loads of 1-0s?
I'm sure as a Chelsea fan you will find certain Chelsea games more exciting to watch than another game on TV which is actually more entertaining just because of your love for the club.
I want my team winning titles while JT is wumming everyone in his path.
Mr C, You treat our fans with respect
I agree with the OP to an extent. Our best ever team was built on a solid foundation who could dominate the best around - but here's were I tend to disagree.
We were not always boring - when we had Duff & Robben, in my opinion we were fantastic to watch and able to tear teams to shreds.
Our failure, again in my humble opinion, was after spending large to get were we were, we allowed the squad to stagnate and started relying on economy class signing such as Sidewell, Pizarro, Ben Haim and Malouda, when we should have selected two premium signings a season to keep refreshing the squad.
It's a shame Roman had his head turned by the Barca model because I infinitely prefered the direct attacking style we had. If we'd replaced Duff & Robben like for like and stayed with the formula we had; that lumbering hulk that we became may have been avoided and we wouldn't be having the wholesale changes we're seeing now. Transition on this scale rarely goes smoothly!
Malouda hahahah. He was fantastic for about 1 1/2 seasons Brummie.
Not bad for the 5/6 seasons he's been her RtM!!
Some players never reach the heights that he reached.
That said hes now awful.
