LENNON - MISREPRESENTATION

Which rag is it? The Scottish media will vilify both the Old Firm this year, i.e Mccoist and the BBC. They only did it to us last season because they were scared of Watty. I'm betting it was the Record, a horrible rag- only thing I could believe in that would be the date.

It's not sectarianism you complete

They aren't doing because he's Catholic; they're doing it because they're poor journalists

it was like that interview in the belfast post which had the headline "davis taunts celtic", when u looked at the players quotes he said nothing of the kind. unfortunately there are many yahoos who read the headlines then get into a rage.

It sells papers. And these rags hide behind "the public has a right to know".

Where is Salmond?
Is he afraid to take on the media?

Sc umbags. That is what these clowns who have the effrontery to call themselves journalists are.

Looks like certain rags haven't given up on their attempt to drive Lenny out or at least cause trouble for him.

Although I detest the rags, your statement above is no more than paranoid fallacy.

To suggest a newspaper is attempting to "drive out" Lenny is ridiculous.

Newspapers will dish dirt on anyone they can. They attack celebrities, sports persons, politicians, any public figures they can smear.

Paranoid android.

Similar thread to your QC...the media are just pure gutter trash trying to stoke the flames.

It was a total non-story in the Daily Ret4rd today on NL over a disallowed goal. Fabricated bolshoi no doubt with a snarling picture for added effect.

The rags really need to be brought to book. It's beyond a joke.

Salmond will never turn on the media, considering it was the Sun who won him the election, or so they claim. Despite the Beeb's Liebour bias.

Read the headline, then read the quotes (if there are any).

Another thing, wasn't this why Jock Stein started The Celtic View?

45 years later and the same old same old.

Ban them all from Celtic Park and Ibrox.

They will change their tunes quite quickly.
Don't let them in the press-box in the stadium even.
Then invite foreign journalists and feed them succulent lamb and the finest burgundies.

See how the Scottish excuse for journalists enjoy that.

How does this fit in with the new fight against sectarianism?

Eh?

It is sickening!

Sport Page- Old Firm sectarian shame (when there is none)

Editorial- We must rid sectarianism from Scotland

Willie, it doesn't. The press dont want it. Peace breaking out would damage the amount of rags they sell ...

THey all just love a bit of scandal. Newspapers dont do good news; just dig dirt.

and where there is no dirt...they'll just make it up

Esctosh, you sound as jaded as me.

You've got to wonder with the millions that BBC gets they couldn't find a decent archivist.

Was it Pat Nevin who accused the Celtic fans of coughing during the Ibrox Disaster Memorial?

I thought the Celtic fans were particularly well-behaved that day.

I do not see how Jim Traynor's show is a phone-in. When he is proved wrong he just shouts at his callers and cuts them off.

The Daily Record have special software, you see.

They have a database which they use for transfer stories.

For Celtic they type in any Ireland International who is over 30. Then print the story add a few come and get me pleas.

For Rangers, it is Premiership strikers who are over 30. Or SPL players with their contract running out within the year.

Is he serious?

This is the type of irresponsible journalism that our game needs rid of. I will say the same for the BBC's creative editing regarding McCoist last Friday. Make no mistake, this is designed to wind people up.

The same paper put their own interesting spin on Lennon's comments in Australia when the Rangers fans hired a plane to fly over a Celtic game with a banner. While it was reported elsewhere that he shrugged/laughed it off, the Record went with the angle that he was continuing his 'spat' with Rangers fans. Jackson & Traynor should be banned from CP and should have been (especially Traynor) a long time ago. I don't think the Celtic board have any appetite for a feud with the hacks in this country, but I suppose their latest statement is a start in the right direction.
