Top notch.

The highest of notches.

That's how good.

ooooo thanks for that response. Just what I like to hear

With the amount of games I have on my Ps3 I don't need a Ps4 for another 10 years.

I have also heard that this game has loads of bugs...has this been fixed?

PS3, you say?

I would maybe wait a while, until after Christmas.

Bethesda haven't been able to get the Downloadable Content expansion packs to work on PS3 as of yet; they do work on PC and Xbox, and I think Bethesda are trying to sort them out for PS3.

Would advise waiting until January to see whether they can actually sort it out.

As a standalone game though, even without the expansions, it's still class.

It is a bit buggy, but there's been enough updates to sort the vast majority out.

DLC, you say??

Hmmm how many pieces of DLC are there and the approx cost per each one?

I tend to stay away from DLC (i'm a cheapo) but for a game as expansive as Skyrim, I may be tempted to do so, just to get the full experience.

The game only costs £18 on Amazon. Bargain, so I can't resist.

Skyrim is awesome, was the only game I played for an insane amount of time and has meant that I have missed out on a ton of games that I'm still to get around to.

Plus the theme song is awesome! Sing with me!

There are three DLCs in all - Dawnguard was the first, which adds a storyline based around vampires.

Hearthfire was the second, which allows players to build homes - not really my cup of tea.

Dragonborn is the third, which has just recently come out on Xbox and should be out on PC and PS3 in the new year. This storyline looks incredible based on the trailer.

Chris! I'm going to Fus Ro Dah the crap out of you, and you're going to love every minute.

Haven't played Skyrim for ages now but I needed to take a break from it to play other stuff and to just have a change. Have Dawnguard and Hearthfire installed but haven't got around to them yet and will get Dragonborn......then I shall return to Skyrim.

SuperGoon my comrade!

So the DLC doesn't affect the main story line? For example, if installed the DLC just as purchased the game, it would be no different than purchasing it after I've competed 75% of the story?

Building homes? Not really interested in all that (what SIMS is for), I just want to fight!

How much does DLC cost?

posted on 12/12/12

None of the DLCs are "essential", and they have no impact on the main storyline. You can purchase them whenever you like and slot them in seamlessly.

The DLCs vary in cost; on Xbox for example - Dawnguard cost 1600 MS Points, Hearthfire costs considerably less (400 MS Points I think), and I'm not sure how much Dragonborn costs. Probably a similar amount to Dawnguard.

Just read some reviews on DLC and have seen the issues on the PS3.

I might just get back to completing Arkham City, WWE 13 Attitude story, Hitman Absolution, PES become a legend, F1 2012 season challenge, Borderlands AND enjoying the occasional playtime of MW3 (cba with BO2).

Think I might leave Skyrim till Spring (hopefully all the issues are fixed) and I can mix between that and GTA 5

The DLC is entirely separate from the main game and to be honest the main game is so ridiculously vast that there's honestly no rush to get it. Get the game first, play it for hundreds of hours and then see if you want some more.

Dragonborn is a sizeable add on though that apparently adds another 30 hours + and introduces a vastly different landscape to the one in the main game.

You're probably right there. Get whatever backlog of games you have done first because if you really get into Skyrim you'll ignore all the rest.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Its never too late to play Skyrim. so I'll knock off Batman and Hitman first.

I might still just get it for christmas just to stop me thinking about it and keep it in its case until I'm ready.

Just as an opposing opinion, I really didn't enjoy it very much. It was a good game, but nothing compare to Oblivion, and I wasn't that bothered by it. I know people who adored it, but it never really appealed to me.

I haven't played Oblivion, I have played Fallout 3 and loved it!! If its as enjoyable as Fallout 3 then I will be happy.

Thanks for you opinion

Good game but lost its Elder Scrolls soul a bit. I would still recommend it.

Pure magic. Technological limitations helped as well. They created monstrously large (having a brain fart) "buildings" and used fog to hide any pop up/clipping. Made for a mysterious world. Much more fantasy than Oblivion or Skyrim. Plus Levitation

Hmm, played skyrim for about 5 hours then didn't play it again, didn't reel me in enough to consider putting all those hours in to complete it.

fallout 3 was great though.

TBF 5 hours in Skyrim is like beating the first level in Mario.

Had 500+ hours in game so far and am at Lvl77. Completed the 2 completable DLC's. As far as I'm concerned Dragonborn isn't really worth spending money on. It's nice to have a new place to explore, but I completed the main questline in about 2 hours. Not really worth the £13 or so it cost. It's a decent game, but, as a few people have said, Oblivion and Morrowind were both better. It WILL eat up any spare time you have though.

£13 for 2-3 hours

Whats the other DLC like, how much and how fun?

I'm assuming you're waiting for the 3rd DLC?
