Looks like 2-2 barring snookers
Now that ordeal is over, time for the snooker.
Robbo & Ding locked at 3-3 as the match hits 2 hours.
Unlucky on the football RKW. Ding takes a scrappy 7th. Neither player at the top of their game (even though Ding has made 2 centuries), but if it becomes tactical, I would have to fancy Ding.
We didn't deserve anything from the game - started playing too late like we always do.
Interesting match-up this one, 2012 winner v 2011 winner. Next frame is massive.
Great pot on the green from Ding - great chance to take the match now.
A one frame shoot-out now!
Come on Robbo, got you down as the tournament winner so need him to win!
But no - Balls don't spilt nicely for Ding, and then great clearance from Robertson. Is the momentum with Robbo now?
I always fancy Robbo to turn things around, even when he seems down and out.
Great break from Robbo to win the match. At 5-3 down I was wondering if I was going to regret passing up Ding at 12-1 for the tournament, but glad I did! Great first match and well played Robbo.
My pick is still in the tournament!
Not seen much of it but credit to Robbo for coming back from 5-3 down to seal victory.
Hopefully I'll catch more of tonight's encounter between Allen and Davis.
Why do the tournament schedulers persist on putting the best games/players on in the afternoon? Luckily I do get to watch most matches throughout tournaments but you look at the four first round games in the afternoon compared to the evening, and the more attractive match-ups are on at 13:00 in comparison to the 19:00 matches.
More to do with TV? Perhaps the BBC get to show all/most of the afternoon games live, rather than just the one hour of the evening session. And I guess no-one wants to be accused of bias to certain players than others.
Currently Allen 4-2 Davis
I fancy Davis though for some reason
Unlucky with the rest there Allen
Not really watched a lot of tonight's game but see it is now 5-2 Allen. Difficult to see Davis coming back, but then we have had one comeback already today..........
kinsang, Don't think so. I think this is Allen's game now. Can't see Davis bringing this back now, it seems impossible, but I have seen this before, Selby and Robertson a good example to use. But it seems unlikely.
Looks like Allen is going to take it.
Allen is now through, winning the game by 6-2.
Robbo and Allen through, they meet at 13:00 on Thursday afternoon in the quarter final.
So, that is that for the first day of the Masters. Time to preview & predict tomorrow's matches?
I guess on paper you would expect Higgins and Maguire to meet in the QFs, but we'll just have to wait and see.
You can never write Carter off though, that'll be a good one tomorrow afternoon.
That's me for tonight anyway, catch you all tomorrow.
Higgins through 6-3 against Carter.
I thought Ali Cater might have got through that. I always seem to have some sort of a feeling about underdogs.
Magurie v Dott could be a long one...
Very rash shot by Maguire let's Dott go 2-0 up. Maguire needs to buck up his ideas.
