Im bulking at the minute.

Ive done Insanity, Asylum, P90X but mixed rather than out and out programs.

Ive been doing these programs from Dec 2011.

How you getting on mate?

What did you make of Insanity, and what were the results like?

Getting my weight and measurements done tomorrow, then let the madness begin!

As I said Ive used Insanity to fill in for cardio days on my P90X program rather than do the program themselves.

I like them, it blows P90X cardio out of the water.

Ive been bulking for roughly two months. Ive put on 9lbs (which is roughly what I want) but looking at myself in the mirror I would swear that my arms dont look any bigger and I definitely am losing my abs definition

What do you mean you are getting your measurements done?

Waist, chest, arms measured and so on... Just to see the difference afterwards. Not too fussed about weight as such as I'm not overweight. Just looking to trim off excess fat as quick as possible.

Yeah I'm very determined and mentally stable Hippo.

Bodyfat calipers, they are like £2 on amazon. Use linearsoftware.com to show you where to measure and then it will calculate your %.

Wow this really is insane.

Did you have to pause much?

First two weeks I paused probably every 30second break but after no.

How are you finding it now?

Im conisdering doing the program as a whole as my elbow is fecked and I cant lift for a while.

Very tough. I can feel a difference in my legs already. Workouts have good variation.

Not seeing a difference, but after 5 days you're not going too are you.

Pure Cardio is a killer, did it yesterday and wow. Tough stuff.

I actually prefer Pure Cardio to the stopping and starting of some of the workouts.

If you think its tough now wait til you get to the longer workouts, I still think Im going to die trying to get through them...

How long was it till you started to see a difference mate?

I was expecting to see signs of improvement round the 3 week mark. Though im unsure?

I love this program though I must say. It's all on a plate for you, no gym memberships or travelling or anything. 1 flat out hour a day for 2 months. Brilliant.

It took me a couple of months before I clicked on that nutrition was key. By then there was a little difference but once I start tracking my calories the weight flew off.

Beachbody programs are awesome, P90X is the top one for me though.

I'm not really tracking calories at the moment.

I try to eat whole foods and aim for 5 300cal meals a day. Along with a protein shake.

Will this see results? I can see abs, but want to get ripped, some fat on lower abs and chest atm.

Protein shake - 1 scoop? Water or milk?

1500 cals a day is as low as you want to go, Im 6ft and back when I was cutting I would aim for about 1800.

If you arent tracking you need to be careful as likely you are eating more than you think.

2 scoops with milk.

I check what I'm eating and try not to go above 400cals each meal.

5 meals a day, one being post workout shake with a banana.

Only drink water.

Too much high impact for me. Had a slipped disk before. I will stick to p90x.

I did it start to finish back before Christmas and I really enjoyed it.
I didn't lose ridiculous weight or come away with a 6 pack, but I saw very good gains in my fitness.
Have recently started it again, but wearing 1k wrist weights during the sessions. Surprisingly tough.
Also throwing in a bit of lifting alongside it this time on the recovery day and rest day.
To be honest, during the first month, I actually found Cardio Recovery the toughest session.

Its all in the nutrition mate, if you eat at a deficiet and train hard the fat goes quickly.

I know, diet was poor. Birthday is in November and the festivities sort of run on into Christmas party season. I'm always in a bad way come Jan.
Started it again 2 weeks ago, going to be watching the calorie intake much more closely this time round.

myfitnesspal app, set a 1800 calorie target and stick to it.

I think Im going to start Insanity as a whole program soon as my arm is still fecked.

Question to anyone who's done Insanity.

Some days have 2 discs on. For example, Thursdays box says 'Pure Cardio&Cardio Abs'. Guessing those days you have 2 workouts to complete?

I'm feeling alot stronger in my legs, and I can see a difference in my abs already.

Alot of focus on the legs I must say, although the sheer effort required is probably what burns the fat.

posted on 16/1/13

Aye 2 work outs, but Pure Cardio is about 35 minutes and Cardio Abs is about 15 minutes with a very short warm up so it's grand.
Just have to hang on in.
