have to look at it from Robinsons point of view.
IF he had scored it may have given him the opportunity for more first team apps, so while he should have passed to luis in the middle, the manager probably wouldn't have taken much notice of him just giving a pot asst than if he scored.
How do you know this if I may ask?
I agree there with you.
Otherwise I honestly think that the poor performance was due to giving LS the captaincy in the first place. He is certainly the best player on the team, but hes much too divisive and chafing on the field to wear the armband. He failed to get the best out of the players and thus he failed as captain. Robinson never told Gerrard to f off, and Stevie has certainly given Jack an earful before. The future captain needs to be Agger or Skrtel, not LS.
This has been trending so i thought i would write an article of this. Your views are welcolme. If this is really true or not , share your input.

Brendan was not happy that he went for a shot.
I saw that too.

That doesn't mean anything. So he's willing to put our FA cup campaign on the line so he might get a couple more appearances in the league cup etc. regardless of if he scored, he still wouldn't make the first team. And I also doubt that Rodgers would pick a defender based on his scoring abilities against Oldham.

It was a terrible piece of play from the lad. It was a little of a difficult angle even for a striker and he had defenders bearing down on him I think. Looking back it's so obvious that he needed to square that ball to someone instead of going for it IMO. Am sure the Manager would have taken more notice of him with an assist rather than with what he did with the ball ending up in row Q!!!
So in fact, if he had cut it back, Suarez might have scored thus earning him more starts in the team because of that assist. He chose to shoot, did so wildly while out of balance, and will now have to live with the consequences as BR wont be considering him as much as he could have been.
If the OP is right he needs a reality check. Can't be reacting like that to a little criticism.
Anyone who watched the game could clearly see Suarez shouting at him and then Robinson told him to do one. Suarez was still berating him 3 mins later on the half way line.
Robinson is good and getting better, but that is certainly not the attitude of an LFC player. Brings to mind what a former managerial great said about the type of youngster he is looking for, someone who would nutmeg (a senior player), but would also respectfully hold the door open for him. Youngsters must respect the captain and other senior players.
i know he made the wrong option, but all i am saying is he prob felt he would get noticed more by scoring than a potential asst.
he made the wrong choice and will have to live with it, but it could have got him noticed a bit more is all i am saying.
My first reaction was to think Robinson was out of order but when I had time to think it over You can look at it that Robbo was standing up for himself. He's going to need that quality in the Premiership, he has some fire in his belly.
Of course Suarez went mad as well and as has already been pointed out was still having a go 3mins later.
I'm sure it's all been sorted now. BR has left the players in no doubt what's required.
On the funny side.
I reckon it might have been more along the lines of "I say dear Jack, perchance one might consider a pass to your colleague, that they may attempt to level the scores, being in a more preferable position from which to do so?
Unlike Carra, who would have said "Arrrayderladyerbagofsh**eyisisyershudvpassedtomelar
saurez is the senior pro why is he giving this youngster dogs abuse infront the of the world?
if he wasn't happy about him not passing the ball fine, pull him up about it in the dressing room.
the lad was right to tell him to f off. saurez has a cheek on him anyway how often does he pass when he has a sniff of goal despite team mates being better placed?
the reality is this young guy had an opportunity to save your bacon and ather than shirk away he was brave and took the chance. what would you be saying if his shot hit the roof of the net?
If so I hope he isn't let off the hook easily. He should suffer some sort of punishment. Suarez was captain. You don't tell your captain to eff off. Especially not when you are still a teenager.
Am sure the likes of Agger and other senior players would never do the same regardless of who's captain. Robinson is 19!!!!
I remember how I felt when he skied it. I thought we were gonna score! IMO he ballsed it up in that particular instance then am hearing he had the audacity to respond like that to criticism!!! Disgusting!
I forget which game now but didn't JR make a howling back pass last year which cost us a cup match?

I agree but looking at the bigger picture is one of the measures of a young player's development and if what you say was on his mind at the time then it shows that he is still some way off being a regular for us and has some attitude problems judging from his reaction to overly deserved and constructive criticism.
I think you need to check again if you think Suarez was wide open. There were two defenders on him. For me the shot was the right choice but it should have been across the keeper with the possibility the keeper might push it into the path of a Liverpool player.
I'm not saying Robinson was correct as he wouldnt have said it to Gerrard but have you ever be really рissed off with yourself and then somebody shouts at you? It's infuriating as you already know you've messed up.
cant remember if that happened, but not sure why you are using that to have a go at the lad, Gerrard has done that mistake more than once that has cost us points.
Not having a go just hoped someone reminded me which match it was

I agree RAP although I'm not sure Brendan will see it that way. He is great with youngsters he knows how to deal with them and the first thing he preaches is respect for the more senior members who he wants them to learn from.
TRFC - no, youngsters learn by getting a rollocking off senior players both on and off the pitch. He knows he should have squared it.
Although I agree with KERWIN, Robinson shouldn't be on the same pitch as Suarez.
Storm in a teacup, players tell each other to f off all the time or have little on oitch gripes with eachother. could be seen as possible player discontent but im sure back on the training pitch all is well on the other hand they may just not like eachother.
Good point there RAP. I honestly dont mind the lad taking a shot. Glen Johnson would of done the same if he had played.
Off topic here but my word if that shot Gerrard rattled against the post went in i was gonna go mental for days.
Tommorrow game we should see more attacking play and shots will fly from left right and centre.
IMO we would have had a better chance to score if he had tried to find someone. Wrong decision to me.
What happened to JR happens to a player almost every single match so there is no justification for his action to tell LS to eff off!! Players get criticized by team mates on the pitch all the time. Players get frustrated by their actions sometimes. It all happens. No reason to be telling your captain to eff off!
